I have a 1998 Honda CBR 600 F3, and I want to replace the break pads myself. Is this feasable with the service manual and some mechanical knowledge or should I go to a mechanic. The bike looks like it has two disks on front, so does that mean I need to buy two break pads? what are the best break pads organic, magnesium composite somethings, or something else? where online should I buy them? thanks.

go to the local bike shop & buy the pads that suit your bike..

use a screw driver & carefully lever the pads away from the disc..(this pushes the pistons back in the caliper)..

you may need to use something thicker than the screwdriver once you get them part way back into the caliper..

undo the calipers .. take out old pads... replace with fresh ones..

replace calipers.,.. pump brake lever to push new pads against disc..

DO NOT OPERATE BRAKE LEVER WITH CALIPER OFF THE BIKE

this will push the pistons out of the caliper..
