Replacing a Toyota V6 with a 4 cylinder in a 4Runner any tips or advice?

I have a 4Runner and want to replace the V6 with a 22R 4 cylinder engine to save gas. The V6 is tired anyway. Has anyone reading this ever done it? Will it cost a ridiculous amount and make me crazy? I will have the pick-up that the 4 cyl. comes from, will the motor mounts transfer? Will the accelerator linkage alone be a full on project?
