Replacing a T610, I want more

My trusty T610 has seen better days. The plastic over the screen is beat, the SIM slot is loose, and the buttons stick. On top of all that, it's been getting less stable it seems, crashing about once a week. That means it's time for me to get a new phone.

Motorolas are out of the question immediately. Between the cheap Moto provided to me by work and my brother's RAZR, I've grown to hate their interface. I don't need 5 entries for the same person just because they have multiple numbers.

Sony loses points as well, even though I've loved this T610 I have a hard time supporting proprietary formats, to the point where I'd pay $50-70 extra for an identical phone from another manufacturer to avoid Memory Stick if it came down to that. Not to say that I won't buy Sony, but they're not my first choice.

With that in mind, here's what I want in a phone, in no particular order:

--Must Have--Quad-Band GSMUncrippled BluetoothFull HTML/XHTML web browser (doesn't have to come with phone, just must be available)MP3 playback from expandable memory, either with Bluetooth Stereo or a standard headphone/headset mini-jackMP3 RingersVGA or greater cameraCharge from USB, must come with cable if phone end isn't standard mini-USBHigh speed data, with the ability to work as a computer modem over BT and USBSecondary screen if flip/swivel covers main screen, candybar/slider style ok with just onePhonebook which stores at least 3 numbers per contactSpeakerphone
--Wants--SSH or Telnet clientStandard memory card type, preferably SD or miniSDVideoFlash cameraPhysical key protection (slider, flip, swivel)External antenna connectioniSync supportSalling Clicker support
--Bonuses--GPSStreaming contentMozilla Suite syncLinux sync
Wants are the factors which will really influence my decision, bonuses will only come in to play if there's a tie after considering wants.

I'm a geek as well, so the more open to tinkering and pulling information a phone is, the better. I know I've got no reason to care, but when I fired up fMA on my T610 and saw temperature readings, that made me happy for a few minutes.

After doing a bunch of searching, it seems like the best choice is to give in a bit on my requirements and go with a w810i. Thoughts? Anything else with similar functionality in a similar or cheaper price range which I should consider? I'm looking to purchase within the next month, so anything coming out in the near future would be good as well, but I can't wait too much longer. Mid-August is about the limit.

The D600 was the first phone I was looking at, but I read that it has some DRM issues when trying to use MP3s as ringtones. I don't want to fight with that crap, so the Sony looks like my only choice.

Do any Brick & Mortar stores carry it? My T610 has been really bad today, so if I can have one in my hand tomorrow either unlocked or locked to Cing I'll do it.

You won't find one locked to Cingular...so unless their is a specific "unlocked" phone store in your area you are out of luck and you'll have to order from a site, but you can probably get it within two days.

Of course, if your T610 is really bad you can grab a cheap GSM moto from work you can use it until you get your W810i (you will enjoy getting an SE that much more too)

If only it were that simple....the Moto I have from work is a CDMA model on Revol. I do work for a phone company, but unfortunately we do VoIP, not mobile, and none of the VoIP/GSM hybrid handsets have made it to the US yet.

I'm fighting with the T610 until I get my next paycheck, and then unless something else is suggested that beats it, I'm ordering a w810i.

yea having similar problems with my t616 lately the joystick is terrible it takes multiple tries to go down any list and i get so many dropped calls hm i really should invest in a new phone
