Replaced motor and tranny in a 95 jeep wrangler 2.5 liter. I try to crank it and it just turns over. I have replaced everything that i know about that would cause this problem.....i did get to run b4 but it was runing rough......so i thought that the problem might b the distributer so i replaced it with a new one......now it wont crank at all. I know for sure that the distributer is in right..... everything is the same as b4 when i had the old one in..........

The plug wires might be crossed. meaning in the wrong location...... The distributor itself might not be timed right because you didn't line it up right with the #1 cylinder in the top dead center position.
You can't just slip in a new distributor and hope its right. Yes it will slide in but if the rotor is not pointing to where the #1 spark plug wire is on the cap When the #1 piston is TDC Then it's out of time. Try this....
Turn your engine over with a long ratchet and socket from the crank shaft pulley bolt in the same direction the engine turns over with the key. Have the #1 spark plug removed and have someone hold their finger on the spark plug hole to seal it.while your turning the engine over. When he feels his finger being forced away from the air coming out of the cylinder stop turning the engine over... Then with a flash light look near the crankshaft pulley itself. There should be a little timing pointer with what looks like teeth and numbers on it.Or might be on the timing belt cover with lines marking timing degrees. zero or 0 is the number you want to highlight or make a mark on....
Then with the flash light shining on the pulley itself. Look for a timing mark on the pulley. It will usually be a line that is engraved or cut in the pulley. If you don't see the line turn the engine over with the ratchet in the same direction that it turns when you crank it with the key and turn it till you see the timing mark on the pulley. Keep turning it till it lines up with the 0. Then with the wires still attached to the distributor cap remove the cap and see where the rotor is pointing.... It should be pointing where the #1 spark plug wire connects the the distributor cap. If it isn't then you need to remove the distributor and put it in so that the rotor button points to where the#1 spark plug wire on the cap will be. Then put it back together and see if it fires....
