Repair or Buy a New Car? I have a 98 Deville that needs $5k of repairs.?

I bought the car for $12k and it has 70k miles. The transmission is the main problem and the engine is fine. I dont want to sink $5k into the car and have to replace it in the near future. But, I feel like this car is relatively young and shouldnt need any other major repairs. Is it worth repairing, or should I just move on?
 
if your body is in good shape and you like the car spend a little money and fix it other wise invest in a new car
