Does this happen to you..It happened to me last weekend..
Was watching a film, and the beginning just froze or paused..so i had to just skip a bit..:(
Didnt miss much, but was annoying..I got afew films for later, so i hope it dont happen again..

This happened to me when I rented Good Luck Chuck recently. I wiped the disc on my shirt and it played fine then. If only the trailers had been skippable... (but I could fast-foward past them).

It happened tonight on saw 6..I didnt miss anything, but its annoying..I just skipped abit, and was OK again after..Phew..lol..Was err film, but i enjoyed it..:D

sorry to drag this up again..but it happened again..couldnt even watch it this time..It must happen to you lot as well..its very annoying, and im gonna complain..lol

Maybe you have a dodgy dvd player?

I use to think it was dvRAB on my old player, and it turned out to be the dvd player gradually breaking down. I gave up after it took about half an hour to read the disc...

The only time films skip now is if they're marked/scratched.

They do say on the case that with it being a dual layer disc [if this was], the film/whatever might slightly pause during the changing of the layers. Although, I'd call a slight pause only 1/4 of a second. I'm guessing this was a lot longer than that.

A slight pause is rather different to not being able to play a scene because it will not move forwarRAB, so you have to skip to the next chapter or fast forwarRAB it till it starts moving. :p

Old dvd player, dirty lens in player...dirty disc, so many variables. What I do know is that decent players have been able to play very scratched discs for quite a while now. Its amazing how bad it can get and still play, but within reason of course. Unless there are deep gouges in the disc, or its coated with dirt, it should play.

Well my player is quite old ( was me sisters)..Even my brother in law says it happens to them too, there player is new(ish)..I went told the woman in Blockbusters shop, and she said it depenRAB on the age of the film..It was Orphan that it just froze, then i skipped abit, and it worked but the end just got stuck, and couldnt watch it..:(,,Will have to see if it comes on telly to watch it..
