...Handyman and Plumber I know? Hi,
I hired a nice property manager to manage my property. is it legitimate to ask that for plumbing issues he contacts a plumber I know? and also work with a handyman I know for other issues?

Also, is it legit to ask to see all invoices? what is the most reasonable way to do that:
- Ask the property manager to send the invoice to me every time something is fixed? or
- come to his office every say 3 months to view the invoices? or
- ask him to scan and send all of them to me? hot often - every month, 3 months?..

You have an "absolute" right to tell him who to call for anything pertaining to your

business - You should approve any and all purchases BEFORE the money is even
spent - he should have your permission to buy any item for the properties until
he has discussed that need and the matter with you FIRST - you should be getting
the invoice for any thing spent

By the way - you should institute a pre-numbered purchase order system -
pre-printed are available cheap at office supply stores - and that purchase order
should include the date -exactly for what property- what was purchased and why
you keep this to attach to your receipts for your taxes - YOU give him the PO number
to include on the invoice - this is his authorization to purchase and your information
as to what property and why the money was spent -
