I'm a forty year old female..Went to the doctor today to get something to help with and prevent fine lines...She prescribed renova...Just found out my insurance does not cover this..Was wondering if anyone knows if tretinoin works just as well? Would appreciate any information...

Hi,
Tretinoin is harder on the skin than Renova. Renova has an emollient added to it. I have used Renova for many years without any dry flaky skin, and beautiful results for anti-aging concerns. (It didn't help with acne tho' :-(. Regular generic tretinoin was too harsh for me, made me red, dry, flaky and caused more break outs. Renova is about $150.00 for a (smallish) tube, but it does last a long time. To me, the value was worth it because it really does produce results, unlike expensive over-the-counter products.
