They are cleaner forms of Energy, so they will not continue to contribute as much to global warming.
Also, new renewable energy creates new jobs, which would boost the economy
Coal power is dirty, while Nuclear power leads to toxic excess waste that pollutes the earths surface rather than it's air.
Many country's are also dependent on oil from other country's (saudi arabia) which gives the oil country to much power and money and makes the country who buys from them less dependent.
