renault dodge engine swap, engine now wont turn and there is pressure on the clutch?

i have just taken a petrol engine out of a renault dodge motor home and put a perkins diesel in, which was a perfect engine from a donor vehicle, all mated up well, BUT!!.... when I went to start her in her new home no joy! so I tried to turn the crank pulley and the engine was solid, and when you press the clutch pedal it is solid too, no movement at all, any ideas what it might be?? I was thinking something not lined up right on clutch?? the more detail the better!!
 
from the symptoms it sounds as if the release bearing fork has jammed into the clutch and flywheel, easy solution is drop the gear box and check,
