remove paint from the eye of a jig/lure.?

i got a bunch of jigs for ice fishing but paint is covering the eye of them so i cant get any line from thm. normally i use a hook but these lures are so small its hard to do. so is there any type of thing you can use to get the paint out of the eye? and i know there is a tool for it but i dont want to buy anythign i just want to use something i might have lying around the house.

If they're too small for the tip of a hook try a safety pin or a needle.

Go to wal Mart and buy an eye cleaner, I believe its what they are called. They're made for exactly your problem and they're only about a buck. It's bascially just a needle attached to a handle.
