Remove email account from E71x??

Hi everyone,

Just got an E71X for free with contract extension (w00t) and I'm finding my way around the great device..

I think I'd like to try nokia's email client since I'm hearing I can get it installed ok instead of the built-in xpress mail, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to remove the gmail account I created in xpressmail. Am I an idiot or do I have to do something special to remove this account? Just to be clear, it's in the 'messaging' area of the phone, and pressing delete doesn't do anything and there's no 'remove' option when going to e-mail settings..

Furthermore, how can I install the nokia e-mail client without having it send a text message to my phone? I have a text block enabled from AT&T since I never text and don't want to receive them from people and pay a charge for them.. but.. I can't find any other way to install the client on the e71x.. help!

SMS link will install the nice GUI version of the Nokia email. If you use phone's browser then it will install that crappy default native email client. Atleast that is my experience.

To delete your gmail .. Go to messaging, settings, email & then browse to gmail, options & delete. That should do it.

There is no 'email' under settings on my e71x.. there's only:

"Text message"
"Multimedia message"
"Service message"
"Other"

can anyone confirm this? Seems like AT&T might've disabled one too many menus.. there seems to be no legit way to get rid of an email account.

I ended up doing a factory reset to get rid of it, then asked AT&T to unblock texts so I could get the nokia mail link.. which worked.. so then I saved the file and uploaded it to my webspace to help anyone else out who needs it but can't get texts:

I really hope nokia mail doesn't start charging soon.. I love this client and interface.. it's so much better than the default! Anyone know if / when they're scheduled to start charging for this and if so, how much?

got it figured out eventually.. if you create email accounts with the built-in email client, there is no way to delete the account. only a hard reset will remove them.
