Remeron Dosage

I have been taking remeron now for roughly 5 weeks I guess. I thought that I was getting my anxiety under control now i am not so sure. The visits to the ER are getting more frequent again. Should I ask to have my dose increased? I'm not sure I want to go through the side effects again, or will I have side effects again if my doseage is increased? I am currently taking 15 mg a day just before bed.
 
The dose range for Remeron is from 15 to 45mg per day, so you certainly have room for an increase if you feel its needed.

In any case, go back to your doctor and say that it isnt working, he might want to up the dose, he might want to change you to a new drug, he might want to add a second drug to the Remeron...... dont give up, there are lots of options for you
 
Jonnstar since you seem to be up to date on the remeron could you suggest a new med for me to try. The weight gain I am not enjoying and I'm not sure I want to up the doseage. I have tried the citalopram and that didn't work for me, felt like I was on some chemical trip I didn't want any part of. The Effexxor XR worked for me the first time I tried it but the second time it made me quite angry.....any advice would help.
 
Its realy somthing you need to discuss with your doctor, but Welbutrin seems an obvious choice - no weight gain, often works where SSRI's dont.

Go back to the doc and have a chat.
