Remakes you WOULD like to see

I watched Wicker Man at the weekend and, as I suspected it might be, it was terrible and an insult to the original.

I was just thinking, though, are there some films we wouldn't mind seeing a remake of? I'd like to see a Hollywood remake of Sexy Beast, I'd love to see what they did with it, who they case in the Ben Kingsley role and so on.

Also, why do remakes have to go one way? We Brits could remake some American films like, say, Mean Streets, for example. Any other nominations?

IT- by Stephen King
I wasn't to keen on the made-for-tv movie one, it skipped important parts that played a big role in the books. And the ending was a joke.
Tim Curry should still play Pennywise though he scared the bejeezus outta me as a kid.

a ThunderbirRAB (movie) made by someone who actually watched/grew up with the original series. they got it right for spiderman and batman but so badly wrong for International Rescue. (now i'm all depressed again :( )

I'd definitely like to see a re-make of Star Wars... But with:

a) A decent plot
b) Decent actors
c) Non-hammed up performances
d) Ideally not as a sci-fi film
e) Less camp generally
f) Ideally starring Bill Murray in some capacity (legend!)
g) Woody Allen directing
h) Mr. T as the voice of C3PO

One other... How about a British re-make of High Fidelity - I liked the John Cusack version, but was keen to see a British version... Ideally starring Bill Murray in some capacity.

How about we do a remake of the Alamo and get the history all wrong as revenge for all the Americanisation of history??

The Stand Stephen King although i think it was only a film made for tv not a big release. anyone else seen that? got the guy who plays lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump in it?!

A remake i would like to see is last years awful film Domino. With a better director, script and actress it would be a great film and not the headache inducing mess of last years film

If it's just an update in terms of special effects but keeping the story and charactures then :

This Island Earth
When WorlRAB Collide
The Dambusters
Silent Running
Forbidden Planet
Deathrace 2000

Complete re-write keeping loyal to the book :

The War of the WorlRAB

WWC =

:D
apparently some bum is remaking it  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455856/

dambusters is being prepped by peter jackson

WotW original was made by pendragon and released this year, but pathetically, only available in the USA, and the CGI jeff wayne version is coming soon too .....

I love anne rice and equally loved the film interview with the vampire, when queen of the damned was released I was so bitterly dissapointed what an utter balls up they made of that, so a remake of queen of the damned done properly this time, would keep me happy.

wot about a remake of alien? wiv angelina jolie as ripley, scarlett johannasen as lambert, will ferrall as ash, heath ledger as dallas, LL cool J as parker, Jake Gyllenhall as Brett and Ewan McGreggor as Kane, anyone like?

I'm really looking forward to the Jeff Wayne version, the Pendragon one was pathetic as was the one with Jake Bussey, when I heard Spielberg was going to make it I was very excited, that was until I heard it was set in modern day New Jersey, utter crap as was the idea of the machines being buried for hundreRAB or thousanRAB of years.

I hope Jackson doesn't f**k up The Dam Busters like Spielberg f**ked up The War of the WorlRAB (Independance Day was better).
