REMAKEING HORROR MOVIES!! that dont need to be REMAKED

prepar for BIG RANT also QUITE LONG ASWELL:eek:

i was going through the internet the other day and looking out upcoming movie websites and i found there REMAKEING hellraiser.
it was bad enough that halloween is getting remade
but now this.

hellraiser is only 20 years old i watched it again as i have revived interest in the films.
there is absoulty nothing wrong with the movie
makeup fine
gore fine
story/plot pace fine
some special effects look a bit dodgy but its better than any shite cgi totally fake looking fx.

im not a major fan of the franchise i just think why? make something new or make a new big bugeted sequal and revive it and forget the last few BAD sequals ((H20+NEW NIGHTMARE did it afterall)) dont restart it again

remakes only work if the film really neeRAB to be redone IMO
hills have eyes REMAKE the orginal could have been improved upon by a lot of areas so i see the point of REMAKING that

halloween does not need improving after 30years its still very effective
isnt the whole point of a remake to be better than what we had before

how can all of these be better if the oringals were perfect well for the type of movie they were.
I know its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$ but
Get some new ideas for sequals going hollywood and stop restarting them over again
as proved with
freddy vs jason the sequal to nightmare +friday the 13th
halloween H20 the big budgeted sequal to halloween

they were very suscessful because they were well thought well made AND MAINLY WELL MARKETED proveing we dont need HORROR REMAKES/ REBOOTS
 
It's a commerical decision really. Movies are very risky to make these days and and reworking a known franchise will a) excite the interest of fans who remember the origimal and b) bring in new fans who don't know the original but are bang into their horror.
It's easier than trying to get punters to buy into an all new horror movie or potential franchise. Just look at The Reaping etc.
 
The next big remake looks like being ROBOCOP...Why, its not even 20 years old yet and still looks great. Why cant they make a "Batman begins" or "Superman returns" type affair instead the brain dead idiots are remaking the first film, whats the point!:mad:
 
i agree i hate the fact that so many movies are being remade - but i must say i do like the look of the halloween remake - looks pretty damn kool :-)
