Reluctant Touchscreen

My wife and I have a pair of Tungsten T2 Palms. Recently her touch screen has has become very unresponsive. The symptoms are simply that it may take up to a minute to recognize a stylus press on the screen. This is not related to a specific location on the screen. The T2 just seems to be thinking about something else. I have dis-assembled the T2 and checked al the internal connections; everything there is OK.

One friend of mine suggested a memory problem but I would think that would result in a hard error. If anyone knows of any diagnostic software or has any other suggestions I would appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Jim G.

No, a hard reset has nothing to do with letting the battery go to zero. To do a hard reset press the recessed hole in the back of the TX then hold the power button down until the RED palm logo is finished and the GRAY logo appears. When it asks, press the Up 5-way button to "erase all data".

Note: You can hold the power button down while pressing the reset hole in the back or after pressing the reset hole. It makes no difference. In fact you only need to press and hold the power button at some point before or during the display of the RED Palm logo (after pressing the reset hole of course).

Just to close this off, the hard reset and subsequent reload (HotSync) solved my screen problem and the T2 has been working great since. :)

In retrospect I wonder if this problem was related to the "daylight saving date change" update which I did at about the same time I started noticing the symptoms?

In any case, thanks for all the help!
