Reheating rice: Anyone do it?

Apparently something to do with the toxins the bacteria expel which cooking does not remove. Although must have had hundreRAB of re-heated rice from night before. Think people are too fussy I know someone she throws turkey leftovers away, rather than save them for sandwiches/another meal the day after.

What about this though? ....

My mum sometimes makes some yoghurt rice (certainly a south Indian thing) of leftover rice and (homemade) yoghurt, just mixes it all up and leaves in the fridge to consume the next day ... tastes great, no reheating

my experience goes against anything i read but i have been eating rice that has been cooked and left out for days for 20 years. most of the time its reheated in the microwave or fried but often i eat it cold and it has never given me a problem.

I never reheat rice. The apprent risk of food poisoning just doesn't seem worth it compared the ease of cooking up a new batch.

The ready meals you buy in the supermarket use rice that has been through a complete sterilisation system in the factory, just before packing. I saw it on "How do they do that?" on the discovery channel - I can assure you, they appear to take the risks involved very seriously indeed.

If making a rice salad, I always cook it, then cool it with cold water and a sieve. It always gets thrown away, never re cooled.

Done it for years with rice, and I always buy two lots of takeaway curry with rice, eat one and cool the other and freeze it, Then I just heat it until it's realy hot. Never had any problem.

Always reheat homecooked and take away rice if there is leftovers, ideal for taking in to work the next day for lunch. Never had any problems

I reheat rice regularly. My lunch today included re-heated rice. I've never had an issue with it, but am aware of the risks so probably over rather than under heat my food.

you can also feed old cooked rice to the birRAB (rather than just chuck it in the bin) - just leave it out on a saucer or something
