I often have trouble focusing and concentrating on the present and am always daydreaming. I have been told that I'm not "grounded" and often gets carried away by my thoughts. However, I find that I really enjoy projects or activities that involves creativity, many of them art-related, such as story writing, video making, or drawing. But in order to find inspirations in art, doesn't one have to constantly be searching and thinking about ideas? Doesn't one have to "lose themselves" inside their ideas and inspiration?
And therein lies the problem. I like art and I love creating art, but in order to do so, I seem to have to sacrifice my concentration and focus on the present, such as homework, class, or conversing with others. Is there a way to find balance between letting loose your mind/finding inspiration and being focused on what's in front of you? Any suggestions? Any personal experience would be great too. I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance.
