Reflective rambling; Will you comment please?

Begged Jelly bread
Bumped my head walkin
Under the kitchen sink,
Got my slice in any case.

Rusting plow, tended fields
Tall grass yielding to footfalls, pretending
No wild to hide from, but heard them growl
No bread crumbs left to find paths home

Age eight I knew I could fly, not quite wise
Barn handy, sloping roof high
I learned a very real thing
Twice that day.

Thought to walk from here to there
Oceans are kinda unforgiving
Good I was in a life jacket
Packed up, scolded, we headed home.

Later I thought to learn
From others on a beach
Volley ball, with a pretty good reach
Found, stuff bounces too much

Christmas fun until it was done
Had to help put all the sense away
"Eggnog, Yuck, no thanks Gram
My birthday's tomorrow ya know."

I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now
TY Michael and yer right. Hugs.

I liked it...as a story especially. Your writes are nothing if not fun, darlin'!

And to say the Byrds spawned CSNY is giving little due to Buffalo Springfield. Crosby cam from Byrds, but Stills and Young sprouted from BS. Graham Nash hailed from the Hollies. And Michael is absolutely right about Dylan being the composer and the Byrds just coverin'! Same folks are still creditin' Clapton with "I Shot the Sheriff"!, to Bob Marley's, now, eternal consternation!
