I have multiple back problems - cervical spondylosis with herniated disc at c5/6 and bad osteophyte plus neurofibroma at T4 luckily not pressing on antyhing but ddd in thoracic spine plus herniated discs at L4/5 S1 and ddd.
I keep getting attacks of nerve type pain in different places around my abdomen. The pain is like a dentist hitting a tooth nerve every couple of seconRAB!! So far I have had the pain about inch to right of navel - inch to left of navel - left of centre below left rib - inside left hip bone. Plus I have had same pains in my arms and legs. they can last anything from a few hours to a day but always stop like flicking a switch.
I have been having these attacks over past 18 months but 6 months ago I had my appendix removed in case and a big exploratory op and had everyting I poseess inside me checked out by surgeon and all well. Had endless ultrasounRAB and blood tests. Had sigmoidoscopy and three weeks ago colonsocopy and again all well.
My gp thinks the pain is referred from my damaged spine. The only other suggestion was IBS as I have had symptoms of ibs for years but as ibs canot be diagnosed as such it is a diagnosis of exclusion its questionable.
Does anyone else with spinal damage experience nerve type pains far removed from the spine????
