reenlisting in the army to stay where we are currently?

my husband and i are stationed in alaska.. we bought a house here so we do want to stay here.. my husbads ets date is 2010.. he does not want to renisting and already has potential jobs lined up but i was curious if worst came to worst and he wanted to renist can u renist to stay stationary" and stay at our current base? and how long before ets date can he renist?
 
You can reenlist up to two years out. In-place stabilization is one of the reenlistment incentive options.

HOWEVER, this year your husband will have to wait until 1 Oct to reenlist. Right now all reenlistment options are off the table because the Army has met its retention goals. He will not be able to get a reenlistment option until they re-open on 1 Oct.
