Red light camera began flashing before I even crossed the white intersection line....

...Ticket? I was going down Wilshire Blvd making a right turn onto Sepulveda (in Los Angeles, close to Westwood). I did not approach the line yet, but the camera already started flashing at me. I know it was me because my car was the only one going in that direction, others were at least a 100 yards away. I got very confused and blinded by the flashes (there were like 2 before I crossed the line, and 3-4 more after) that I didn't come to a complete stop. I wasn't even going fast since I was about to come to a complete stop before that chaos happened and I freaked out.

It took place last Friday, and I'm nervously going through mail everyday.

Is it legal that the camera flashed before I entered the intersection (crossed the FIRST pedestrian line)?
If I do receive a ticket, can I request ALL the pictures they took to prove that they camera flashed prematurely? Is that a good defense?

Thanks for any related input.
So wait, yours flashed before you entered the intersection too? and you still got a ticket???
where was it? what does it show in the video? where can i view it?

thx
GUYS, PLEASE READ WHAT I SAID ABOVE.

I DID NOT RUN THE LIGHT. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN ON THE LIGHT (IT WAS ALREADY RED. FOR A WHILE). IT'S NOT THE POINT.

THANKS
