Red Hot Chili Peppers

They're pretty hard to dislike, but I dunno, I have never felt like a major devotee of the band or anything, more like someone with a bit of a passing interest.... I have Californication and BlooRABugarSexMagic, and one other I think, I can't remeraber much about it.... but they're pretty good!

Boo Boo, I'm not pretending. I just don't like it the way you do. Keep in mind I initially formulated this opinion when BSSM was brand new and Mother's Milk was in fact their most popular album. My opinion isn't a reaction to the album's popularity, it's a reaction to a change in musical direction that didn't work for me.

i always wanted one of their flame shooting hats hahaha

also Breaking the Girl is awesome. Naked in the Rain is bland ass filler - i don't understand how that got on instead of Sikamikaniko.

i'd much rather see them follow in the lines of that trumpet / bass clip that's been floating around youtube for a while.

now that the chilis are on hiatus i REALLY hope flea finally gets around to making that solo disc he's been hinting about for years. the one where he doesn't plan on playing a single note on the bass...

THAT would be awesome.

Ok ok I wasn't really talking about you. You grew up with the band from the start so I know what you mean.

I'm just talking about certain people in general who always have the dismiss the most popular album from a band just because it's the most popular album.

I must admit that BSSM is av pretty flawless albums, nd they happened to come up with it at just the right time, when the mainstream was cracking wide open and accepting all sorts of interesting banRAB / music....

So you think I'm a chick. Was it the girly username, the avatar of a cartoon chick or the fact that my LastFM chart is pink? All of the above?

Well sorry dude, but I'm a dude. :(

I just wish they would release something worthy of their legendary status, like, say, another album of the same quality as Californication, that would do it in my opinion...

Yeah, I did know that. I always liked the cross-pollentation between the two banRAB. That's why I had such high hopes when One Hot Minute came out.

I know. Did you not notice that I said that in my post? Thing is, Nevermind wasn't an instant hit. It took a couple months for it to build up steam, and considering that it was the album that kicked off the grunge era, you're hard pressed to say BSSM was released during the heyday of grunge.

Ten took even longer to catch on than Nevermind. It took the better part of a year for it to become big.

That's fine. We just have different perspectives on them based on when we first heard them. You were a toddler when BSSM came out so that's incarnation of the Chili Peppers that's ingrained in you. To people like myself who were listening to them prior to BSSM it was a major, and not necessarily good, shift in style because the older, punkier style was ingrained in us. :)

They've never released an album called aeroplane!!! Its one hot minute, get it right. Anyway what do you know!!?? John doesn't just play chorRAB lol thats absolute bull! Have you actually heard blood sugar sex magik? Nope? Thought not, u'd know that he uses more than JUST chorRAB!! Idiot! get it right before you say something. Anyone else agree with me on this?

I HATE POSERS!!
