Red Hot Chili Peppers

Agreed, I think Kiedis is a huge douchebag, but I don't think the band would be the same without him. Flea and Frusciante are my idols though and the reason why the RHCP will remain a huge favourite of mine.

Virtually every post I have read by yourself has endeared me to you, but this is just durab. A certain sound? That is the whole point! what was their sound? It is closely linked the with the socio-political enviroment of the late 70's in the U.K and erabracing it. The Clash could play PUNK, DUB, REGGAE, ROCKABILLY with ease becaused they were at ease playing it. That was the musical maelstrom at this time. British working class at this time was influenced by carribean music as much as rock.

Whatever, Mother's Milk is up there for sure, but I'm not as big on the pre-Froosh stuff.

BSSM is the point where they started doing more mainstream stuff, like ballaRAB, but that might be one of the things I love about it because it's the best of both their trademark styles.

Stop trolling please.

Your arguments and your attempts at "reasoning" for why a banRAB music is objectively bad is just irritating, and you do it on a thread devoted to that band and you know you're going to get into it with some fans, and for what? They are dead set agains't any criticism for their favorite band and nothing will change that. What are you trying to do? Show them the light? Give me a break.

You're so biased yet robotic in your stubbornness, it creeps me out.

It's weird how he is heralded as a good guitarist in the Red Hot Chili Peppers yet I never hear anyone mention his solo albums. As Seltzer said he has good influences and makes some good music.

I agree.

I listened to them both yesterday and they are freakishly alike.

Regardless, who cares? Music is music.

It's not like they Stole Petty's riff or anything. It's a coincidence.

:)

It's me in my 70s 'heyday'.

Dont listen to her she tells lies...:pssst:

As for One Hot Minute I bought it and thought it was pretty awful. A lot of people hate the 'She's my Aeroplane' song but I actually like it but as for the album its probably their worst. Also when i bought it my copy kept jumping so somebody was trying to tell me something i guess...

loz, even if the guitar work is good, it's still just routine mechanics, ya know what I mean? it sounRAB like some sort of auto-pilot mode.

Absolutely. How the hell am I supposed to back up a subjective opinion?

If there's one thing I will say though, then it's this: the best "refutation" anybody's come up with so far, was that they were revolutionary because they were "white". And that's a pretty lamea$$ refutation. I wish there'd be something at least a little more substantial, if not more entertaining.

Sorry to sound so behind the rest of the conversation.... but I was unaware that the Chili's are on Hiatus.... is it one of those long, semi permanent, we like each other but are done playing together hiatuses, or for like a year, two years, etc... dok tell!

BSSM is by far their best, because it's near perfect. Hillel back in 84 with his other band "What is This?", same year as the Peppers debut. The guy was a nut, and I mean that with all due respect.
