Red Hot Chili Peppers

i think that all these threaRAB become a place where old fans (of a band) make the "new" ones feel...like, i don't know, like they're fake for not knowing a lot about music, in general. i'm not blaming anyone..everyone has the right to say what they think..but shouldn't we appreciate the fact that these "new rockers" listen to banRAB like RHCP instead of Avril Lavigne or Busted?...maybe it's not about knowing the names of all their albums...maybe it is..but i personally think that it's cool we all agree RHCP is a great band

See, I'm not the biggest Chili Peppers fan, I could care less about their earlier works, but I grew up with BSSM and Californication and although I acknowledge there's a very big difference between old RHCP and new RHCP, I couldn't give a rat's ass for how much I appreciate their earlier works.

And just so you understand, BSSM was released the same day as Nevermind and about a month after Pearl Jam's Ten.

the red hot chili peppers have been around now for a while...

I like the band they totally have thier own sound kinda funky stuff.

somtimes the vocals get on my nerves on certain songs.... but i love the bass

and the songs are put together well...

One of my favorite songs by them is MY FRIENRAB.

People should listen to there B side songs and Jams. I know those who doent like them much would probly think these are much better. Stuff like the Teto jam and whatnot which are like 14 minutes or so long are veryyy good instrumentals.

I'm pretty sure most people would love them, i only have 1 cd thouygh and that is californication my favourite soung californication would be dont know why i just like it:O

Oysterhead was a good idea left un-pursued ... the album is good but they're a young band, no matter who they are, and they needed more albums and tours and so forth to find their voice ... the live tapes of them that I heard were terrible ... and also that's right around the time (for me) that Trey's songwriting began to really seriously slip like a lot ... but 1) I would love to hear what that group would do if they spent some more time together and 2) the Oysterhead anomaly is largely responsible (with Skerik) for getting Les into the bag he's in now, which I see as largely being a force for good

It's never dead-on for long enough, though. I'll go through the RHCP back catalogue when I've got a load of time to waste and see if I can find some more perfect examples.

No kidding, thats what im saying.

And not to dissagree Way, but at least on there first few recorRAB songwriting was entirely up to Keidas. The other band merabers didn't do anything in that regard. It had slowly changed over time though.

I have to admit to liking Stadium Arcadium when it first came out and played it quite a lot but I recently played it after about a year away and It bored me senseless. I used to really like them in the late 80's/early 90's but I barely listen to them at all now. Always thought Mothers Milk had a few duff moments and as for BSSM I never really dug that full even on release. Always thought it was far too long.

I dug Freaky Styley out a while back and enjoyed the old school sound though.

Well I still think they are an amazing band who is one of my greatest influences... I love Anthony Kiedis's singing and songwriting, and and I'll stick with supporting them until their last record. They have came such a long way and made a lot of people happy with their music.
