Red Hot Chili Peppers

i'm pretty much in the same boat. californication was the last disc i bought and it disappointed me. i haven't heard anything since that really made me want to get back into them.

freaky styley will always be my disc of choice when it comes to the chili peppers.

Yes, that's true. I've just never heard of that connection. I've heard that RHCP influenced Mr Bungle, but not Faith No More. There are some who say that Anthony Kiedis ripped of Mike Patton's vocal style (which is amusing).

Only other banRAB did play funk music at the time RHCP were around.

Mainly The Minutemen and Gang Of Four... Though RHCP were even funkier, and they were more influencial on later banRAB, like Faith No More and Korn.

I agree it does sound contrived, but with what that band has been through since their inception; i'm still pleased to get any output from them at all. Still probably the best live act I have ever seen.

What band have I crapped on? I complain about people bringing up the same banRAB ad nauseum, and yeah some times Im like "shut up zeppelin suck" because some people mention it every 3rd post, but you can find other posts where I've mentioned that I like them, or participated in "best songs of..." so the argument is there. Don't be pissy cause you're one dimensional.

:pimp:

i didnt know thta was new?i love the song but i thought it was old, they've been playing it on video hits quite a bit but it hought that was for their 20th anniversary

And the first thing they ever jammed together as a band. It was all down hill from there... :D

edit: Eric Avery (I think his name is) = seriously underrated.

its nice to see that rhcp are so widely talked about!
chili-euphoria.com is a new website, that is dedicated to fans, it is both used by them, and run by them. there's a whole load of gigs to be downloaded in the media section, and lots of discussions going on, and not only about the new stuff, but plenty about the older stuff too. feel free to take a look!:)

I agree...they're older material is a lot better, but even though they're newer stuff isn't as good as it used to be i still like them. They put on a good show...i saw them a like 2 years ago, and they were very energetic in everything they played.

They always get classified as such and I don't really see it. But yeah, Faith No More for sure. Early Incubus is another excellent example of funk metal...

They had some truly great stuff in the 90's as well as patchy good stuff from the 00's, and they were great in the eighties too... gotta say I've cooled towarRAB them significantly in recent times, they just aren't lighting up that musical part of the brain that all my favorite artists do.... no fault of theirs, just maybe my changing tastes, most likely!

chili peppers are alrite. i just don't like anthony keides. I GOT A BIG WANG FLIPPITY FLAPPITY FLOO, I KNOW YOU WANT MY BIG WANG CAS I WANT IT TO! or some ridiciouls ****. musically though their pretty kick ass.

so many banRAB lose the flare once they get sober...I like RHCP, I just think i liked their music better when they were on drugs.

its not my band. its a band that i really like is all. you should check them out. they're awesome
