Red Hot Chili Peppers

Haha, insipid??? Your talking about a band with Frusciante on guitar and Flea on bass, and your calling that insipid???

You may not like them as a band, but come on, both of them are very creative musicians. Either that or you do not know what that word means.

Flea is the only piece of talent in that band IMO, but somehow when it all comes together its better than the sum of its parts.

oooooo man dont get me started on these guys!! i love'em...i learn all their sh!t on the guitar!!..my fav song is purple stain!!!

I love the song "Californication" by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. But I don't really understand the whole song. E.g: what does "First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn" mean? and "Cobain can you hear the spheres
Singing songs off station to station And Alderon's not far away" ? And in general; What is Californication, as an explanation?

i thought 'hump the bump' was the only thing that sounded REMOTELY old school on stadium arcadium. it was dirty, it was funky and a slightly sped up version could have easily fit between any two tracks on any pre-BSSM album.

I love RHCP, i find that they're one of those banRAB that you can listen to at any time where as other banRAB you have to be in a certain mood to want to listen to them.

The only thing i disliked about the chillis is stadium arcadium, it had some awesome songs but it seemed like for every great song there was 5 average (or below average) songs.

Honestly i think even if it isn't your kind of music you have to respect a band that can go on for so long and still be making nuraber 1 hits and appealing to the masses without selling out and losing their uniqueness.

I have to disagree with that first part; in my (limited) listening experience I've noticed that lead singers tend to move away from the backing a little bit rather than singing each and every single note. I think songs flow better that way. I like the other technique once in a while but it gets tiresome when it's used so often.

I guess it has to do with you guys being older fans of the band.

They're Red Hot and I Could have Lied should have been cut but I love just about everything else. There's no shortage of funk, I don't know where that criticism is coming from.
