Red Hot Chili Peppers

I will agree with this too. I didn't then and don't know rate it all that much. It has a few good songs but for once Rick Rubin's production blunted an edge of a band instead of sharpening it.

I think they are pretty overrated. They have some good songs, but I think that they fell short. I would take Faith No More any day over RHCP.

Oh yeah, favorite song would have to be Californication.

No, it's not a rip off. That comparison is bull****... The chord progresssion isn't even the same... it's a similar common one often used in rock.

The drums are different. The bass is different. The tempo is different (slowed down by the radio hosts).

The lyrical content is completely different. Dani California is about Dani California. Last Dance With Mary Jane is about marijuana.

I've written a whole page on this if you want to see it... but this is just a short summary.

And you obviously don't know how to read rules or use puncuation. And besides the fact your calling a mod a homo basically. Your going out on a lirab man.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of my fav. banRAB. I love Blood Sugar Sex Magik, as you can already tell. Suck My Kiss is classic... I actually had mixed feelings about
the album By The Way, there was a couple good RHCP style songs like "Cant Stop" and "By The Way". I thought a majority of the tracks were pretty soft...but thats not always a bad thing like "Dozed" and "Throw Away Your Television."

:pimp:

I agree completely... apart from 'Breaking the Girl' and 'They're Red Hot' I love every other song on the album. I don't think it sounRAB like two EPs smashed together at all. Nearly every song has such great funky guitar and killer bass riRAB, and most are incredibly catchy. It's still my favourite release from them.

For all the people who bought By The Way, Stadium Arcadium or even Calfornication as their first Chillis' album, please tell me you then went out and got their older, much better stuff too. Especially Mothers Milk. I saw them touring the Mothers Milk album and they were amazing. Flea never stopped bouncing and gurning and Anthonys voice was incredible. It's a shame that they are now a band who, while headlining the Reading festival last year saw nearly a third of the crowd walk out during their set. They still rock but they aren't half as good as they were.

So basically, if you're not mainstream commercial and with a worldwide fan base, then you're rubbish.

My "hatin'" on the Chilis has nothing to do with their mainstreamness. It has a lot more to do with their making bland, uninteresting, faceless music for a seemingly endless nuraber of years now. Hell, I don't believe they're even interested anymore...in anything aside from milking it, that is. With stats like Californication going 15x platinum, they're doing pretty well on that side of things.

I think RHCP have gotten weaker and yeah they have dried up a bit. But they still have some gems here and there.

I'll say it again, Californication gets a lot of hate but I f*cking love that album. By the Way is pretty good too if only slightly above average. I think their turn towarRAB more melodic pop music was a refreshing change, but now it's really dried up and they need to evolve. Planet Arcadium is hit and miss. I really hate Tell me Baby.
