Red Dwarf The Movie Teaser Images

WTF?

Reading the synopsis the plot completely contradicts the series!

Mankind died out, not from some homo sapienoiRAB... whats going on there???

MarlboroMan, dont forget, the end of the 7th series, the little things living in Listers washing basket remade the universe, so that means anything can happen now!

It's supposed to be filming this summer, and is due out in Sping 2004, but I'm not hopeful. It's been delayed so much, because they cannot raise the money to make it. There have been several deals which have fallen through, which makes me wonder if the investors aren't convinced it's going to be successful.
As for the teaser images, I've heard these were released about 2-3 years ago to try and get investors to finance the film. The plot summary does contradict the series, but the film is going to be completely seperate. It's supposed to tell the whole story from the beginning. Remember, we never did find out what happened to the Earth in the series. It's in the books though.

Go to the official web site for loaRAB of stuff on the film.

The latest film news (dated February 26th) from the BBC

Red Dwarf producer Charles Armitage is confident a Red Dwarf feature film will be made.

Armitage tells the BBC that, "We are in that twilight world of pre, pre-production. We are looking at co-production possibilities and the director has been out looking at locations."

Armitage says that although the fan-base is large, you wouldn't have to know much about the series to enjoy the film. "We are bringing a new generation of fans to Red Dwarf. Doug Naylor has written it in a way that it is totally accessible to everyone.

"People who have never seen a Red Dwarf episode before will be able to follow it. But there will be enough in there to please die-hard fans also."

As for the teaser images they are new . The images are from a new flyer which was at latest "AFM" (an annual motion picture trade event)
