My son broke his femur bone 1 year ago in September (2008) he had 9 surgeries since then and in September had a screw put in his good leg to stunt his growth in that leg because he broke his growth plate. After that surgery he ended up getting a staph infection and had the hardware removed and was on an iv antibiotic treatment for 4 weeks. He started physical therapy and began to show improvements. Last week he started having alot of pain in his leg again he has not been able to go to school all week as he is in excruciating pain. His doctor is at Children's Hospital and I have made several calls to his office to only get the run around. The have tried giving him different pain meds but this is not working. He has no unusual swelling, his leg is not warm to touch but he is in an unbelievable amount of pain. It is Friday afternoon now and the soonest his Dr will see him is on Monday at noon. Can anyone give me some info on the chances of his staph infection recurring and what symptoms to look for in a recurring staph infection. I would really appreciate any info u have on this matter.
Thank You and God Bless,
