Hi All
I had this operation 9 weeks ago today and am thoroughly desponsent and need your help please.
I wore a non=weight bearing cast for 6 weeks and since then have been in a bott with pwb and crutches. While i get more mobile all the time, my physiotherapisy who i have seen twice will not do anything until she has spoken to my surgeon. So three weeks later and no further.
Does anyone know what exercises i can be doing to get me walking. I am expected back at work in 3 weeks and cannot have crutches or a boot!!

Help please

What did you doctor write on the PT prescription? Typically the Physical Therapist is suppose to evaluate you on the first visit to see what you are able to do and than they are suppose to set up a plan of treatment consisted with what was requested by the ordering doctor.
Have you spoken with the physical therapist to inquire why she must discuss your treatment plan with the doctor? When is your next scheduled appointment? You need to be a proactive patient, if you are not getting what you feel is the correct treatment than either request another therapist or go to another physical therapy practice.
Let me know how you are doing.

Hi Brenda
tThanks so much for your response. I live in the UK and here we have national health which means that I cannot change physical therapist. I did go to my GP and he has contacted both the surgeon and the physical therapist to get things moving. But still currently no further and still fuming. I am due back at work 2 weeks on Monday and as I am a teacher they need to know whether i will be back then or not! ArrrggH!!
