recording with tunerless dvd/vcr?

recently bought a sony tunerless dvd/vcr combo player without noticing it said tunerless (stupid)
but we do have a converter box already connected to the tv. will i be able to record tv with the vcr via the converter box though?
 
yes you can.either get a/v output from the tv (very rare to be found)to your tunnerless input or find another way of spliting the output of your cable box by using rca splitter.one go to tv and another go to tunerless.good luck.
