If I open a Flash file (not YouTube) from a website on my computer is there any way to record the output, either as a Flash file, Video file or an audio file? I am particularly interested in recording the audio content (spoken in this case)

I'm guessing you want to download FLVs (Flash video files). Ordinary Flash files are generally SWF files and don't necessarily play back like a video.

The answer is to get Firefox and download the free version of the DownloadHelper addon. As you browse, you will be able to download FLVs using the DownloadHelper button in the browser.

If you want to play them back, you'll need to get something like VLC media player.

If you want to convert them to other formats so you can play it back on your phone etc, you will need something like Free FLV Converter
