Recommended data plans on Cingular

A similar thread was closed in the Cingular forums so I figured it wouldn't hurt to poke any Nokia users that are currently with Cingular.

My question is what data plan(s) do you find sufficient and compatible with unbranded handsets? Looking through the different data plans there are quite a number of different options.

- Media Max
- Media Works
- PDA Connect Unlimited
- Smartphone Connect Unlimited

Cingular user? What's your data plan?
 
pay per use 3cents per kb

it sucks...but its like 2.99/month to get 1cent per kb, 4.99 for 1mb, and like 9.99 for 4mb and 29.99 for unlimited. then again i am an old original at&t wireless subscriber
 
zeze, is that the Smartphone connect unlimited?

chopsu3i, I know a handful of legacy subscribers who refuse to change because their older plans are just too valuable (in their eyes) to let go of.
 
including me. unlimited m2m, unlimited n&w, unlimited sms/mms receive, 1000 anytime minutes nationwide, 9.99 add-a-line with 4 lines, 39.99 base rate plan.

but back on topic, i was actually thinking about adding the unlimited data plan until i got the n95 and realized wifi is EVERYWHERE over here.
 
Looking at the MEdia Max + Unlimited M2M messages, it says UNLIMITED MEdia Net. Reps continually tell me MEdia Net refers to WAP browsing. Does that actually cover unlimited internet usage through a normal browser? N73 or N95?
 
Hmm. All I can tell you is that I've never been charged beyond my monthly fee for data and i use plenty of apps with my "MediaNet" connection and only use the normal browser for all websites, WAP or not. I don't think that the Cingular servers can differentiate - they just connect you to the internet and you're off...
 
I had to switch to $39.99 plan for a blackjack rebate form in store, then went home and changed to $19.99 MM200 through OLAM, received rebate no problem and no interruption to service, MM200 should be fine unless your tethering to laptop a lot
 
I also use the MM200 with unlimited M2M feature. That saves me from having to bump up to the MM1000 as I barely exceed 200 SMS a month and half are to Cingular customers.
 
i've been using my e62 with the $20 mediamax plan(unlimited media net +200 messages) and access all kinds of sites(even hofo!) on the full html browser without hearing about it from cingular. Certainly the cheapest plan.
