Hi friends,
I have owned a Palm 515 for the last 3 years and have been quite happy with it. I am now thinking of purchasing a new device running on Palm OS with bluetooth capabilities (mainly for GPS external device). I am overwhelmed by the plethora of instruments on the marked and am really perplexed and shall be very much obliged for recommendations on what handheld shall I buy...
My budget is ca. 300-400 US$
Bluetooth for GPS is necessary or a built-in GPS
I need that all my old programs and databases (JFile) will run on the new device
I need the graffiti and don't care much for a keyboard
Am not very interested with video capabilities
WiFi is OK but not entirely compulsory
An SD card slot is definitely compulsory. The type of SD that fits into the Palm 515

Thanks, I incline towards the TX. Will it be possible to sync the contents of my old M515 to the new TX? That includes OS hacking programs along with programs which were built for older OS of the M515?

Just another thought, you mentioned grafitti, all new palm devices use grafitti 2 which most 'seasoned' palm users can't stand, myself included. Check out tealscript if you are interested in using your old grafitti style with your palm device.

Im not sure if is possible to bring all the content from older versions of PalmDesktop into the TX but i recommend you to look for the backup folder inside your actual Palm folder in Program Files, then copy it outside and do a newer synchronization with the TX... is better to install one by one the programs since some of them could actually be harmful for your TX`s system and make several softresets while you do the first hotsynch.

About your databases (notes, notepad, addresses, etc...) is probable that the compatibility from the older OS from the M515 remains and in the installation of the TX PalmDesktop the wizard ask you to import them, if not do the same backing up them and reinstalling one by one after the first hotsynch.
