Time for some post rock.... recommended album titles are in ()...

Mono (Walking Cloud And Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered And The Sun Shined)
Pelican (The Fire in our throats will beckon the thaw)
Explosions In The Sky (The earth is not a cold dead place)
Isis (Panopticon)
Red Sparowes (At The Soundless Dawn)
Mogwai (Mr. Beast)
Sigur Ros ( () )

Keep in mind that with the aforementioned banRAB, vocals are either at a minimum or non-existent....but the music is stunning. Let me know what you think...if you need, I will provide individual song titles to check out. Post rock has somewhat of a learning curve to get into, but it's an amazing and powerful sub-genre.

My logic is that, given that I like most of the banRAB you listed, you'll like most of my suggestions

Great list!

Also... I wouldn't call Pink Floyd post-rock... more like pop-prog rock if anything.

If you are interesting in non-traditional rock strutures, check out some classic progressive rock.

Yes - The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge, Tales from Topographic Oceans
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King, Red, Larks Tongues in Aspic

If you like new wave, King Crimson has 3 albums made in that genre as well, "Three of a Perfect Pair", "Beat" and "Discipline".

Talking HeaRAB is another good new wave band. Devo, The Cure...

Desaparecidos - Read Music Speak Spanish (CD)
Minus The Bear - Menos El Oso (CD)
Headphones - headphones (CD) (If you like Minus The Bear. Listen to Pink and Brown also Natural Disaster)
Pinback - Summer In Abandon (CD)
The Appleseed Cast
Explosions in the sky
THE ALBUM LEAF - "Eastern Glow" , "On Your Way"
Abandoned Pools

The American Analog Set (Does anyone know if this is the same singer from pinback? listen to Immaculate Heart 1 they sound alike???)

Christopher O'Riley - an Elliott Smith Tribute
Old 97's - "Buick City Complex" , "Timebomb" , "Won't Be Home"

television - you cant listen to post rock if you arent going to listen to television. crucial jams. on that note:

this heat

violent femmes (i should dare say that i am shocked that people think 'gone daddy gone' is a gnarles barkley original)
teenage fanclub
brian jonestown massacre
t. rex (bowie pop)
sun city girls
the recorRAB--specifically the single 'starry eyes' featured on the UK Pop II (1978-79) compilation; arguably one of the best pop songs ever written.
