Hi,

I would like to know is the reception of BEV is ok in the around of the airport ???
I may have to go with videotron...
How can I be sure that the reception will be good ???

An airport should have no effect on satellite reception, unless of course a plane hits your house.
A clear line of sight it what counts (trees building mountains).
So unless you install the dish on the runway you should be OK.

Are you around Dorval? Please put your location into your user profile so that we can offer you better advice.

If a flight path crosses over the path between your dish and the BEV satellite(s) you will have a momentary loss or decline of signal each time an airplane gets in the way. The odds of this happening regularly would only be high if your dish was located very very close to the landing strip.

My aunt lives just east of Sources, just north of Donegani, right under a usual landing flight path and gets very few momentary losses. Nothing to worry about.

Next time a low flying plane comes by, see how big it is in relative terms. Hold your arm out and use your hand to determine how big it is compared to your hand on your outstretched arm.

If the plane is bigger than your hand, you might see fluctuations in signal strength. I'd be willing to bet the plane will be smaller than your thumbnail; at which point it won't make a blip.

As for RF interference; Bell is digital, and the frequency is no where near what planes use. Planes use a specific frequency range for that exact reason.

Best way to now is to get it installed...if it's a new installation you have 10 days after the installation to unsuscibe with no penalty and if you were an existing client they will require the 30 days notice

Stamp...where I am in Sunshine Hills you would be amazed at how many times a
"heavy" like a 747 gets between my dish and the BEV Sats! :D They are just
making their turn to intercept the Localizer at the Alex Fraser Bridge when they
block the signal for a split second.
