Recent Blu Ray purchases.

Although I am a Bluray fan and have well over a hundred titles in HD I think its inaccurate to write off dvd.

I think dvd and Blu will co-exist , much as VHS and LD did in the US until dvd superceded both simultaneously.

Bluray is not helped by the fact that the vast majority of British tv would be wasted on Bluray and tv on dvd remains the largest growth area for dvd and has been for years

With the exception of recent shows made in HD and a handful of programmes made on 35mm film in the 60's and 70's British tv will remain on dvd

not all that thrilled with BluRay to be honest. i had already made it clear to myself that i would never rebuy my DVD collection at all. And only buying the odd BD for special new movies. Thus far - i havent been impressed.

saw The Hurt Locker round a frienRAB house recently - were we had previously watched BRAB over the last couple of months - but this DVD felt no difference. Crystal clear - and beautiful looking. not to sure what more the BD version of this would offer.

The only thing BD may have is extra special features.

I'm not replacing all my dvd collection, just buying most new ones on blu ray and maybe changing a few of my all time favourites onto blu ray.

But not changing like video to dvd. That's just silly, especially when blu ray players can upgrade the dvd quality.
