So is this the number that BEV receivers call? (888)292-3059
I see this one, two, three upto four times daily at around 9:26 am ever since I switch the telco cable on my 9200.

25/11/2007 09:28 OUT (888)292-3059 TOLL FREE Local 00:00:26
25/11/2007 09:30 OUT (888)292-3059 TOLL FREE Local 00:00:21

I doubt that anyone would be able to provide you that information... I worked for Express Vu for a year and a half, 2 months of that being in the verificatin departement and we were never provided that information.

My receiver calls... 1-888-225-2096 but I'm sure there are other numbers it can call.

I had my receiver on a VoIP line that records every call out.

The thing calls often! lol it caught me off guard.... it seem rather excessive... multiple times an hour?

What model is it a older legacy(100,2700,4700 or 6000) or a newer dishpro receiver(3100/4100/5X00/6100/92xx)?

There could be a problem with the phone line, causing multiple attempts. My receivers typically call out about once a month.

My 9200 and 6100 are calling the same number.
It's a Fax / Modem that answer at the other end.
You can try it by dialing yourself.

Yes it is on my VoIP Line. I just swapped out the Telco cable when I got my new Plasma TV. All of a sudden I see these out going calls show up.

I called it myself and yes it is a modem answering. It's my 9200, I don't have my 5200 connected to a telco line. It has only done it once this morning.

There are reports that Bell receivers don't work well with VoIP. It's probably just an EV plot to get customers to switch back to Bell. :D

Well I have a POTS line as well, needed for my security system. But I am not going to switch it to that. Not my problem.

I have a 4100 and it connects to ExpressVu via my VoIP line no problem.

It's a Bell VoIP line too :P

What VOIP providers are you guys using? I have Primus VOIP and am wondering if I will have problems when I get my receiver installed later this month. I know today whenever I call the 1-888-ROGERS1 number, the number that shows up on their system caller ID is not my number. For some reason 1-800/888 numbers dialed on Primus do not forward your real caller-ID but if I dial a number directly (LD or local), it works fine.
I wonder if the same thing happens when these Bell 1-800 numbers are dialed from the receivers and will Bell think something is up if my home line doesn't match what's in their records.

I am using Bell Digital Voice Lite.

In terms of the lines that the receivers are dialing out from... I never received a call from ExpressVu asking what is up as naturally the VoIP # is different from the landline # which the account is registered to. I guess I could easily change the number on the account.

I too am using Bell Digital Voice Lite. Been using it for 2 years. Never had a problem with it. Have used it on Cogeco and Rogers Inet.

No problems here either. Using it with Sympatico DSL. I love the option of additional numbers and voicemail to email.

I would do this. The numbers on the account and line used for calling in must match. They will try to call you on the VOIP line though. OTOH, what's the issue with using the land line? I have no problems with this.
