[rec]

I hate it when this happens. Everyone i know hates having to read subs even if its an brilliant movie. Oh well

I had a feeling they would. Clean slate for both companies. I believe thats why they changed the name aswel. Seems to be hollywooRAB way, one good movie = $$$$$TRILOGY$$$$$

It's a real shame because some of the best horror movies of the past few years are foreign, in particular the French ones like 'Martyrs', 'Inside' and 'Switchblade Romance/High Tension'. They really show the US how it's done!

I havent seen very many french movies to be honest. Only been into 'world cinema' for a couple of years mainly really into japanese, chinese, korean and only recently buying spanish (Rec), french (Irreversable), brazilian (City of God)movies. Will check out your recommendations though as watching a good foreign horror late night (on my bloody own of course) is a great way of wasting a couple of hours when i can't sleep!:D:eek::D

Just watched it. Enjoyed it, but i personally feel that the first one was better. The fact that most of the time the characters have guns kind of takes away a bit of the tension. I'll spoiler tag the rest of this post for people who want to avoid spoilers (Big spoilers ahead!!!):

It's still got a creepy atmosphere though, particularly the first part where the SWAT team is looking around the penthouse and the last 20 minutes or so with the Medeiros girl stalking them in the dark.

The kiRAB really weren't necessary though, and they were ridiculously stupid.

Obviously there is going to be a [REC]3 if that ending is anything to go by, i'd imagine that it'll start with the demon reporter walking out of the building and biting someone causing a full scale epidemic.

Overall i'd say about an 8/10.
Roll on [REC]3!

i saw this in NZ back in September strangley - its funny how most films take longer to come out - but sometimes, just sometimes - they some films earlier then anywhere else.

I personally was a little disappointed

mainly on how they suddenly changed and went all Exorcist. still, it was good to see Manuela Velasco again - i would take her at every position in the book - and stay for breakfeast

but still better then the shite hollywood calls Horror these days.

Watched it last night . I loved it . Scared the sh*t out of my wife , she had her fingers in her ears for virtually the whole film.
9/10

Can't wait for the 3rd one . As said it has to start with The demonic reporter leaving the building.

Here's my review of [REC]2, contains spoilers,

I thought it was a good film, perhaps not as great as the first but that might not necessarily be an issue with the film, more to do with the fact I knew what to expect this time round, whereas that wasn't the case with it's predecessor. This time I was more prepared to jump out my seat, which I did on several occasions.

Whilst not without it's faults, much like original film, [REC]2 moves at such an adrenalin fuelled speed, you tend not to notice, or rather don't have time to dwell on it.
With the first film, the supernatural element near the end seemed a little hokey, this time around that is explored further and seems less out of place, however the use of the camera (not only to find things in the dark but to find things in another realm) does push it a little but the film makers move swiftly on, so it's forgiveable.

After recently sitting through the dreary Drag Me To Hell and being bored stiff I can truly appreciate the horror of the [REC] films. As I said, perhaps not as good as the first but still a great, fright filled hour and a half that leaves you wanting more. I eagerly look forward to [REC]3

8.5/10

I've been looking forward to rec2 for ages. I'm a massive fan of the first film and the glowing reviews that the sequel has received really stoked my excitement.

I finally got to see it tonight and to be honest I'm disappointed. The film looked great and I liked the cam within cam effect. But I was irritated by many aspects of the story.

The priest was particularly annoying, what with his repetitive 'Agrrh, that was our last chance to find The Blood...oh hang on a minute, no it wasn't' storyline. And the 'Exorcist-Lite possession of the kid' was laughable.

Having said all of that the last 15 minutes were quite good and I did like the ending
(although you could spot the 'twist' a mile off ).

Perhaps my expectations were too high. I might try watching it again and see if I like it any better.
