I thought it was a good film, perhaps not as great as the first but that might not necessarily be an issue with the film, more to do with the fact I knew what to expect this time round, whereas that wasn't the case with it's predecessor. This time I was more prepared to jump out my seat, which I did on several occasions.
Whilst not without it's faults, much like original film, [REC]2 moves at such an adrenalin fuelled speed, you tend not to notice, or rather don't have time to dwell on it.
With the first film, the supernatural element near the end seemed a little hokey, this time around that is explored further and seems less out of place, however the use of the camera (not only to find things in the dark but to find things in another realm) does push it a little but the film makers move swiftly on, so it's forgiveable.
After recently sitting through the dreary Drag Me To Hell and being bored stiff I can truly appreciate the horror of the [REC] films. As I said, perhaps not as good as the first but still a great, fright filled hour and a half that leaves you wanting more. I eagerly look forward to [REC]3
