Just saw the trailer for this on TV last night.

I'd rate the 1st as probably the best horror flick of the past 10 years or so - really rattled me! I loved the subtle hint as to what caused the "virus" at the end of the 1st and judging by all the online reviews, it looks as though this is expanded to brilliant effect in this sequel.

Just wondering how long it will take for people in the auditorium to up sticks and walk out when they realise they have to follow subtitles! :D

Loved the first one, was left underwhelmed by the second one :| and I think if people are going to see the sequel of a foreign movie they ought to know it's going to be subtitled!

What I mean't was you are going to get a lot of people going to see this at the cinema simply off the back of the trailer and the very cool looking poster of Manu's glaring red eye! A lot of people wont be in the know that it's a sequel to a cult horror flick in spanish :)

I hope it does live up to expectations, a number of reviews have stated that this is what Aliens is to Alien which cant be bad :D

have actually seen this, in NZ in November, and its okay.

its certainly no Aliens to Alien! that was a very generous review who ever stated that!

more like 28 weeks to 28 days later.

but its okay. the first one was excellent and cant be beat. just all my opinion of course!

Absolute crap. Shits all over the goodwill the first movie earned. Writing, acting, everything is trash. Even the lighting (far too bright for the most part, the attic room especially looks like a set from a poor stage play). God I hated this terrible film.

Loved the 1st movie so i was eager to see the 2nd,wish i hadnt bothered,i was really getting in2 it then came a new twist to the story

The zombies wern't really zombies, they were people possessed by demons

It just got silly after that i thought.

This is starting to sound like it's gone from Aliens is to Alien and is now Blair Witch 2 is to Blair Witch.

Blair Witch 2. Now that is an appalling sequel

I enjoyed it when i saw it a few months ago, and i've got frienRAB who haven't seen it yet so i'll be going to see it again sometime next week. It's not as good as the first one, but it's still good, and a lot better than some of the shite lazy horrors that Hollywood is pumping out at the moment (i'm looking at you Nightmare on Elm Street remake).

[REC]2 wasn't bad. It did seem that the filmmakers got lazy with this one though but it's watchable. I didn't like the explanation of what the "infected" really were. The 3rd film could be a fun one to watch though (if it gets made).

With the way [REC]2 ended, I'm going to assume that the entire city gets infected in the 3rd film.

If you enjoyed the first, you'll love it. Yes it's more of the same, but it's far from being a lazy sequel. It's a continuation of the first, and it certainly doesn't waste time hanging about building up back story.

Review here.

It's a disappointing and derivative (even more so than the original) sequel I thought.
They bend over backwarRAB in an attempt to justify why people still insist on filming what's going on when most folk would drop their camcorder and run (or attempt to run) a mile in that situation. At least the first had a film crew.
The more it goes on the more the series feels more like an idea for a survival horror videogame than a film.

Most of the footage is captured via the cameras on the SWAT teams heaRAB. It'd be a bit stupid if they removed their helmets. I think the recording is justified...

The kiRAB are stupid though, i'll give you that. Their section is easily the worst part about the film.

Yes, but the priest saying 'we must film this so that people will know what happened here' in reference to using the teen's cameras (I think) is clunky and smacks of the writers thinking 'no one would in their right mind would be filming at this point but we must continue the shaky 'Rec' theme we created'.

Loved Rec and put off watching Rec 2 cos of all the negative comments from my mates.

Tonight I was bored so I finally watched it.

How AWFUL! REC2 goes on to crap all over the quality of the first one!

As someone who watches a lot of Spanish cinema, and partially grew up on it, I can say that REC was very innovative and daring for Spanish film. THe success was such that they HAD to film a sequel, and it really puzzles me how it could have gone so wrong! Why change the story - why the twist from a zombie-like disease to introduce the supernatural - it got REALLY REALLY Silly.

And the ending was crap, and was just a recycling of Rec 1! I hear they are now working on a third movie - what next?? I really won't be coming back to find out!
