REC 2 (contains unmarked spoilers)

Finally got around to watching REC 2 last night, I bought the DVD and i kind of wish i hadn't had bothered

How the hell did they go from Some kind of virus that turns people into zombie like things to a bloody demonic possession? :eek:

I know at the end of the first film it was hinting of a some kind of possession and religion but i just assumed it would carry on with some religious nut modifying a virus not some priest running around trying to get the blood from a girl with the devil inside her lol

I really liked the first film, it was well shot and was quite stylised and that "thing" at the end was one of the scariest looking things i have ever seen, but by the end of the second film i couldnt have cared less about it and she wasnt the littlest bit scary anymore

Anyway rant over, What did everyone else tink about it :D
 
i quite liked the original a lot and disappointed by the second movie - by the exact reasons you stated!

but i do like how they attempted to do something different, even though the results where a bit shit.

a third movie may be interesting. but i already know it will not be as good as the original!!
 
I also loved it. I loved how they changed it up from the first one. It didn't beat the original for scares but still had that intensity to it.
Looking forward to the final one (still unsure about the prequel).
 
haha I guess me and Rincewind78 are in the minority at the moment then :D

I cant say im looking forward to the 3rd now knowing with direction they have gone, but you never know
 
I rate the [REC] as the best horror flick of the past 25 years (serious!) it had everything i wanted in a horror movie and more....to reduce a 32 year old male into a quivering wreck (excuse the pun) come those last moments definitely demanRAB respect! :D

I was VERRRY disappointed with REC2. I wasn't really bothered about the new direction they took, i found it quite interesting in fact, however it was the execution which left me feeling flat. The whole movie felt rushed, didn't bombard me with constant noise and terror like the first and dont even get me started on those annoying kiRAB!!

Oh and I agree the Medeiros Girl was hanRABdown the freakiest thing I have ever seen in movie, yet in REC2 there was no suspense or creepiness surrounding her in this?
 
The REC films come across more like Japanese survivial horror games than films. The plots are convoluted mishmashes of science and demonic powers at work and characters are frequently trying to get to a specific point/person/item while battling monsters along the way.
I wonder if REC 3 will have Kinect or Move support? ;-).
 
Well I am glad some people liked REC. I thought the original was just another so called horror film that completely left me feeling cold and thinking 'is that it'? Shame as I feel like I am missing out on a complete genre here.
 
I loved the first one, this one was actually also really good, it had a few surprises and the bit with the chunky worm thing going into the girls mouth?? What was that?? :o Sorry maybe a small spoiler? :p I love them both!
