ReBoot

I saw this show as I was getting older and I didn't like it, it seemed too "kiddy" and hated cgi cartoons. However later I saw one of the "darker" episodes and it held my interest but I never bothered to check it out as I was 13 or so at the time.

This is a show I've heard so much about that I really wish I could blind buy the dvds.

I still can't get over how amazingly awesome the core powered Hexadecimal looked, with the original costume but still some of that leather bondage looking corset and boots. Then you add on the little bits of yellow that just pop. Perfection! it would be sweet to see if she could come back in the series some how if the show comes back. i went all emo and depressed for a while when they killed her off. grrr

This seems to be cool, but without Tony Jay, its gonna really suck. All i really want really is with this, we can finally get Season 1 - 3 in a boxset and a movie to conclude the series. Them remaking the image of ReBoot seems a little fishy to me and can only take a turn for the worse....but we'll have to see once they do one.

One thing I hope is that the character designs are just as creative. They used the primitive plastic look from 1994 to their advantage and created green people with metallic hair, light-up hair, etc.

Part of the reason they set the series inside a computer was because it was so obviously computer animation. Now CGI is so good, I'm worried they'll make it a little TOO good.

No. As much as I loved ReBoot, I can think of a hundred other things offhand more worthy of effort than trying to revive a cartoon that won't be revived.

p.s. Don't bump threads.

Well it certainitly won't be with an attitude like that, BCVM22. I'm not saying I'm blissfully unaware of the hurdles in the path of this, I (and over 800 fans) are thinking positively and willing to try.

Definitely a valid concern, but I'm sure it will pan out well. Take a look at season 4 - it retained the "plastic" look of the series very well, while using new technology to add a lot of really cool flair (for instance, new "bit" effects for laser blasts and their impact points on surfaces).

And if you think a drop in the proverbial bucket like 800 fans would be enough to indicate to both Mainframe (or whatever they call themselves after the series of ownership changes) AND a television network that reviving a show gone for 5-6 years already would be financially viable, then perhaps you need to rethink this mission you're on.

No I do not think 862 fans are enough to make anything happen, but that's just the current number joined up since the website opened a little under four months ago. Personally I think having that many within that period of time for a show that hasn't been on the air for over 6yrs (and then some for other countries) is quite amazing.

The more the word of this spreads the more people join up, it's now just a matter of time before we reach and surpass 1,000 and eventually 2,000 and so on. I wouldn't be surprised that if everything goes well (in terms of advertising and word of mouth/keystroke), that we'd have near 1 million before the end of 2008.

well starting on july 26, fans can put in their own input as to what they want to see and where the reboot series should go. if enough fans ask for the same thing: aka - closure to the series (not a new story), original cast (not new voices), original characters (new characters might be alright but they can't take over the movie from the original characters), same looking animation (it's fine, or even better, if they were to increase the detail and just make everything look sharper and more interesting... but they have to keep the same looking animation from the series that we all grew up loving), and finally they need to bring back at least gavin or ian or both (they had the original ideas for the show, they knew where the direction where they wanted the show to go, and they should be back to make sure everything turns out to be like "ReBoot").

go to this site http://alpha.zeros2heroes.com/ and start talking on july 26 to get what you want.

I think you're misunderstanding exactly what's going to happen. From what I gathered, 5 writers will all come up with a new Reboot series, (a continuation is not happening.) and fans will give input on which one they liked, and how to improve upon it.

That's all. The VAs, animation (aside from concept art), and bringing back old staff have nothing to do with this.

no, i've reading different things and from i and others gather, we might be able to talk about different things that have to do with reboot coming back. we're thinking that if enough people ask for a continuation they'll give us what we want, considering the different articles have said themselves that they want fan involvement so that we get what we want right from the get go.

The topic of discussion in this thread needs to move towards the show itself and away from petitions. I allowed this thread to stay because it was about the show, but if it turns into a thread about petitions, then I will close it since that type of thread is not allowed.

That'd most likely be the case with sites like 'onlinepetition.com' but that isn't the case with my site. I've checked the emails and IP's to make sure of that.

Right, which is why this isn't either of those. We're actually sending physical letters, something that shows the fans are actually getting off their butts and doing something.

I'm 'very' glad to see that from the way those two posts read that neither of you really looked through the site, otherwise you'd realize neither of your comments have basis on what's actually there.

Alright, sorry Delia.

So what's everyone's favorite episode(s)?

Here are mine (though I found it hard to pick just a couple from each season):

From season 1:
  • Enzo the Smart
  • Talent Night
From season 2:
  • When Games Collide
  • Bad Bob
  • Painted Windows
  • Gigabyte
  • Web World Wars
From season 3:
  • Firewall
  • Icons
  • Return of The Crimson Binome
  • Web Riders on the Storm
  • Showdown
  • End Prog
From season 4:
  • Daemon Rising
  • Sacrifice
  • Life’s a Glitch
  • Crouching Binome, Hidden Virus

I just want them to finally resolve "The Hunt". And then resist the temptation to tack on another cliffhanger. After that they can do whatever they want, revive it for better or for worse (no cliffhangers plz), but I want closure.
