Its a reboot because they actually want to appeal to a new generation, having a continuity heavy continuation with a small fanbase is not going to make them money. This is the best for both fans and the franchise.
Wow, its been awhile since I heard and watch reboot. Back in 1999 I think.
So, a movie is coming out. This is new, it might “Reboot” the franchise again.
And why are ppl saying the series never ended? Maybe the final episode in the U.S, but in Canada it did. Youtube it.
I watch it. It was pretty good. (IMO).
No Reboot never ended, Their was going to be one more movie after 'My Two Bobs' which as many fans know ended with a cliffhanger but the last movie was never made.
I hope there is a good sound-a-like. It'll be very off if Megabyte doesn't have his established voice. I wonder what he'll look like with modern CGI animation... and the rest of the cast of course.
That image is from March, and was part of a Rainmaker promo video that labeled that scene as "Guardian 1.0", which doesn't directly link it to Bob (as Bob was one of many Guardians), and the 1.0 indicates it's a work in progress.
BECAUSE, as sad as it is to admit, it would not be a marketably product and would be a total money sink. You need to make the property profitable and the only thing to do is to start from scratch.
On the plus side now they can tell the story they always wanted to tell without all the needless filler and go straight to the meat of the story!
This could jumpstart a new TV series where they retell the story having learned from their previous mistake and now with an actual ending!
*facepalm* Because you aren't relying on the ridiculously small number of people who remember a show that is over ten years old to make your movie profitable. By making a movie sequel to such an old show newcommers to the franchise wouldn't be able to get into it and understand the story. The serie doesn't air anywhere (well it does on Teletoon Retro...) or even out in a DVD set.
So for the sake of a new fanbase you start over.
You're in LA, pick up a copy of the weekly edition of Variety sometimes, you could learn something about the entertainment industry.
Most CGI is obsessed with mimicking the real world as closely as possible. ReBoot goes the opposite direction and does wild things with computer animation that are normally "against the rules" like depicting blue people with metallic hair.
And even though this guy is "more realistic," he is still blue.
