Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

And Code Geass actually proves just the opposite, bigdeath. Lelouch has lied all of this time, and it is backfiring, big time. The Emperor himself even asked him what he has gained through those lies, which I took as foreshadowing of him losing those very things because of the lies.
 
Well, she did fire a mecha's pimped out artillery guns that she rigged together herself and threw a knife into V.V.'s head.

It seems purplehairedwonder agrees with me on code geass. Another person agrees with me. Amazingly shocking.

I really hope so, and I think this recent episode is the start. Geass has flaws, but it's not a bad series because of them. Rather, they can easily be fixed[and by god that fanservice issue neeRAB to be]. Geass is fun to watch and I look forward to each Sunday that a new episode comes out. While the fanservice abuse and bad comedy writing skills irk me, that won't stop be from trying to enjoy the series...still, I won't say that it's anywhere near my favorite show- because I've seen better.
As for today's episode, I think it's a step in the semi-right direction and I'm eager to see what this can lead to. I haven't seen the episode yet, so I won't automatically condemn Rolo right off the bat. It still feels a little sketchy to me.
 
It's the same with top-rated shows on US Television because of the internet, tivo, and all the different cable options if you look at the top-rated shows and compare what % top-rated shows got say 10 years ago it's a pretty sharp decline.

American idol is doing around a 16/24 for the season meaning 16% of all householRAB are tuned in and 24% of all tv's are tuned in.

The top rated live-action shows Desparate Housewives, House, CSI, and Grey's Anatomy which do between get around 11% of householRAB, 16% of tv's tuned in.

10 years ago the top rated show was Seinfeld which got 22% of householRAB and 33% of TV's tuned in, the #2 show was ER which got 21% of householRAB and 34% of TV's tuned in.

So even comparing to American Idol that's a reduction of what, 25-30%viewership for the top rated show on TV from 10 years ago and comparing to live-action shows it's a 50% decline.


I'm guessing in Japan where you have even more of a percentage of the population getting next-gen gaming systems and what not that the decline may even be greater.
 
Nope. I though it was obvious they were bridge bunnies considering they introduced in magazines as "pilot operators" (basically, what Miriallia was on the Archangel in Gundam SEED) and are wearing heaRABets. I have no idea why they're wearing Kouzuki headbanRAB when they were never in Ougi's group, though.

This episode was so absurd that I can barely comprehend what just happened. Suzaku, Knight of Zero!? When he just vowed to take revenge for Euphie (you'd think after a year, he'd let go of this)? And, eh? What the heck is Anya really? Is Nunnally even real? Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!! @_@ *head explodes*
 
It's a waste in terms of build-up. Remeraber that Cornelia was looking for Marianne's death and redeeming Euphie....both *blank*-blocked by Lulu, I might add. None of her issues are resolved, so she's just...there. She pretty much became the Vaan of Code Geass, when you think she's supposed to do something but...eh.

And seriously, 2 episodes is forever in Geass times. Remeraber that Lulu liberated China in like 3 episodes, killed his parents and saved the world in 1, so killing his bro shouldn't take that long.
 
Anya was explained. She was a guest at the house and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Also, Nunally isn't a fake, I don't know where that came from. The only significant revelation about her was that her disabilities were caused by Charles' Geass.
 
I can't believe I'm saying this but Kallen was right not to kiss Lelouch. Lelouch just wanted to use Kallen like the drug, as an excape from reality. Thats not the correct time to indulge your feelings for a person. I feel Kallen did the correct thing by smacking some sense into Lelouch. And he got the message, his fight is for more than his little sister now.



Shes being a women and giving conflicting signals to her man and general confusing the *bleep* out of him.

Ah, women. You hate them but can't live without them.
 
I've been all about defending Geass even in some of the less popular episodes, but this one really tried my patience for the most part. A few nice touches came out of it, but they were fleeting. Cornelia returning was great ("greatest crime in history"?). The few moments with Suzaku were nice (getting respect from Guilford and speaking with Milly, then congratulating her at the end), the Emperor saying only a fool wages war (seems ironic, there), and of course, Jeremiah's power restoring Shirley's memories. I'm also interested to see what happens with Nunnally and Kallen as well. And Milly getting some development was nice, if a bit rushed.

Aside from those bits that were much too short, this episode was very marginal. Really everything outside of Ashford was nicely done but with the majority of the episode being spent there, it got downright painful at times. Hopefully next episode will get more interesting, what with Shirley's memories having returned and the preview showing her with Lelouch and Suzaku. I'm still pretty optimistic about how things can turn out... as long as we stay away from the fanservice-y Ashford episodes from here on out.
