Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

Why is that a reason to let dislike the series?

Geass does have a lot of brilliance, sure, season 2 has had a lot of iffy moment, but I believe it has come out quite well. One minor detail is going to ruin the series for you? That's absurd.

Really, there are plenty of people who think the series have gone quite well, not perfect, but on a decent road, so the series isn't 'botched' up to everyone, and if anything, only to the minority.

The 2nd Opening and 2nd Ending themes have been announced.

2nd OP is "WORLD END" by FLOW. 2nd ED is "Waga Routashi Aku no Hana" ("My Beautifully Elegent Flower of Evil) by Ali Project.

You do know that the peace sign isn't just a sign for peace, but also a sign for Victory, right?

Also:

Hell yeah! More FLOW and Ali Project.

The dub is good, but I'm more interested in seeing how the cast handles the end of R1 first, before going too far into R2. That's just me, mind you.

I was almost convinced after reading this, because the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming...but I've simply decided to interpret it as a "dual ending": it works if you believe Lelouch is alive, it works if you believe Lelouch is dead. The specifics change, naturally, but no reason to debate the subject to death. If he's alive though, I'd also prefer Lelouch to be hiding in the haystack than as the cart driver.

I do want him to be alive, personally, because it would be a somewhat happier outcome for Lelouch...but I realize that even then Lelouch would have to deal with the bittersweet memories of those he left behind. Of course, C.C. is the person who understood him the most, considering the circumstances, so she's in the best position to accompany him through all this, since she herself has her own tragedies Lelouch came to understand. They complement each other nicely, those two, so that's probably for the better.

Whether they will actually live forever or only a ridiculously long amount of time would be an interesting question though, but that should be left for fanfiction and the like.

If he's dead...well, I can deal with that too. It does bring enough closure to Lelouch's character and could even be considered a "happy death" if there is such a thing.

I hope the next episode gives us a quick recap of what happened with Nunnally since episode 18? She has been "dead" for almost 4 complete episodes. Was she floating around the sea all this time, did she have amneshia, or what? Those when whenever thought was a person was dead stories are always fun.

But Lelouch was doing all of what he did in this episode for a reason, but that reason was for a world in which he assumed Nunnally was dead.

Actually, the Brittanian Emperor himself is personally not racist at all. He treat eveyone equally badly, from the lowest conqured people to his own sons and daughters.

The social divide is not due to race; the Emperor made the point that if you are defeated and conqured, then you are weak and deserve to be treated like garbage. Race isn't a factor. The same rule applies to within pure-blood Britannians, with Nobles treating commoners like trash. Everything else was added by the citizens interpreting the Emperor's mandate.

The idea is, the only way to prove you are equal to your oppressors, is you have to turn the tables and oppress them with force and violence. Suzaku earned that right, and that's why he is a Knight of the Emperor.

You are weak so I oppress you.
The fact that you are being oppressed proves that you are weak.
etc. Cycle of violence.

Generally speaking, anime in the weekly top ten are doing 4% and higher. So when it's over that, it's very good.

A few things should be remerabered. One, the old TV spot was slowly declining in ratings. Its not a given Geass would've been better off there. Two, Geass is the first show on the new block. Given that episode 5 saw a jump, perhaps its a matter of folks getting into the time change. Plus, episodes 1-4 got leaked prematurely and it is/was golden week in Japan, which might explain episode 4. And finally 00 will be taking Geass' spot after it's over, so it'd be good for the time slot to not be a flop.

We can look at world war 2 were all sides committed some truly horrifying things. Fireborabing cities just to demoralize the population is far worst the killing everyone in a geass filled faclility.

Cornelia-hime said it best, kill first and ask questions latter since even the kiRAB may have geass and they only need a second to beat you with their magic eyes.

Nowadays, prime time anime is lucky to even make it 10%. The days where anime is mainstream media is long gone in Japan. Even very popular anime, such as Doraemon and Detective Conan, struggle to hit that cut off rating of 10% now.

20% is a miracle.

Given I've only ever discussed one Geass manga, I figured that was simple enough. No one says I have to report this, so I'd rather not go through the mess of explaining if I'm referring to Nightmare of Suzaku's Lelouch Loving Counterattack.

Anyway:

well, thats because she was the only one of them that actualy had a personal relationship with Zero/Lelouch, the other Black Knights dint even know who he was until he told them he was playing/using them like fools, its not fair to expect them to care about him as much as Kellen, and unlike her they dint know his true intentions at the end.

after working together for so long he knew NOTHING about him, then Lelouch turns out to be some crasy magical power wielding prince who himself admits hed been using them and only say them as mear pawns. Thats not like his relationship with Villeta at all, he could forgive her cause he loved her, Lelouch was just some guy he dint know anything about except for the fact hed been using him the entire time.
