Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

Curiosity.

Also, yeah. Kallen is in it. She does the whole "Blush" thing at first, and then the part at the end. Also, it sort of looks like Lancelot and Gurren are teaming up in part of the opening. That's sort of interesting. We also know that it was worked on by Brittania due to the "Wings of Light" wings. D:

Spoiler tags for now:

Either way, interesting/sad episode. The dialogue between Lulu/Jeremiah, and then with Rolo/Shirley was nice. /sigh Saw both twists coming though. Jeremiah joining Lelouch after he found out who he really was, and Shirley getting killed. =(

i dont know, i just cant put my finger on it, but she seems realy diferent, its like shes shinier and her hair is more dark-like and she looks less old than before, i still dont like her character, but maby her pritiness will make up for it.

Whoa, another excellent episode. As expected, Shirley's death really kickstarted the plot. Looks like Suzaku's finally going to discover the truth, one way or another. LeLouch's revenge was brutal. While eliminating the Geass order is a good thing, I don't think he would've given a "kill everyone!" order if he hadn't been fixated on avenging Shirley. Seeing some doubt about the operation was nice, although it would've been nicer to see it coming from someone other than a random guy we probably won't see again.

The beginning to this was interesting, and raises a lot of questions. At one time Charles, V.V., Marianne, and C.C. were all together, it seems. I wouldn't be surprised if Marianne had a contract with C.C. like Charles has with V.V. So what happened between them? Perhaps the Geass order wasn't always a bad thing but Charles and V.V. started using it for things C.C. and/or Marianne didn't agree with, which led to Marianne's murder. This is a possible explanation for C.C. feeling that she was just being used as a puppet back when she was leading the order. I think this is further supported by the fact that though she went along with LeLouch's decision, she also seemed very regretful about it.

So, Todoh and Xing-Ke are making alliances. I guess now we know where the global alliance against Britannia is going to come from.

The fight against Siegfried was pretty great. V.V. definitely has arrogance to spare, so it was nice seeing him get taken out. Its too bad Rolo gets to survive awhile longer, but LeLouch and Cornelia finishing him off was awesome. It was pretty fantastic seeing Cornelia show up with that horde of guns.

Needless to say, the cliffhanger was a killer this time. Obviously LeLouch will soon be freed from the Emperor's Geass, but seeing the man himself show up was quite the surprise. Looks like V.V. will escape to see another day.

Britanna got hit hard this episode, but they're far from beaten. With this talk about this "Sword of Akasha" and the system behind it far surpassing Knightmares, it certainly sounRAB like Charles has a standard superweapon in store. Believe it or not, I think we could have a grand alliance at the end that includes even Suzaku. If Charles and V.V. start causing wanton destruction, all bets are off.

Grade: A

Anya most likely survived. When she fell there was a lot of time between that and the borab, I'm sure someone came to help her, or that is what I expect, I highly doubt they'd kill her, she seems important.

I highly doubt Rolo is going to betray, maybe be hurt, but he does save Lelouch in a later episode according to the summaries.

I believe there is 1 Glaston Knight alive now...

I also believe Nunally and Sayoko are alive, we don't know how far along the plane was by the time the Freija went off, they could have pulled something.

Any and all hopes for my GinoxKallen are pretty much gone, unless that was playful banter, which is not the vibe I got.

And actually, if anything, this gives Cornelia more of a reason to join the Black Knights, she doesn't know that Guilford got Geassed, and from her POV it looks like Britannia essentially killed him.

On Rolo: While I did defend him, I do, and did, understand he is a psycho, I just wanted to believe he hadn't completely lost it, which he has. Though, in theory, it wasn't a bad plan to eliminate Nunally, Lelouch himself said he would be done with Rolo after it, so his actions/thinking was kind of jusitfied, if only ever so slightly.

And you know, the 'Live' Geass may have triggered the action, but Suzaku was the one who decided to equip it essentially, nobody had the power/authority to make him, so he made the choice.

If Kallen is sent to britannia then this would give C.C. a chance to take over the role of Ace pilot. That way she can get the spotlight, god knows she neeRAB more development.

Alot of people seem to theorize that it's 'Elizabeth' or something, because C.C. =Sissy, which apparently is a nick name for such. (or some weird variation)
The same with R2=R.R.=L.L. in engrish (matching C.C. and V.V.) = Lelouch Lamperouge (or lulu to ruru and visa versa for the Japaneses translation/pronunciation)

While I would have liked to know her real name, at the same time I'm fine with them never telling us, since it hadn't really bothered me. Also, GWO that was an amazing review. You did a fantastic job and I can't help but agree on it all- at least for me, you summed up the feelings that I couldn't express myself. The prediction PM you sent after I asked how you thought the series would end actually came to mind XD

That still constitutes as fan service, as well-endowed women used well-endowed machines to just cater to nothing more than fan's desires to let such women dominate others as well as ideally them as she pilots it in a motorcycle style biker's seat.

*takes your hand and also dances around with you*tra laa laaa tra laa laaa.

Although despite this I'd feel more safe understanding exactly WHAT happened to cause that. I don't want to get super excited and then next episode we find out Suzaku still hates Lelouch. Though from what I just watched it seems that he entered the world of C with CC so maybe he really DID just join him? I wish I knew what Lelouch said when I heard Suzaku mention Nunallys name. It sounded a little angry. His face at the end of the episode was totally twisted.

I have a very strong love/hate attitude toward this episode. I hate that Charles' grand master plan was basically some grandiose Evangelion rip-off. What's with this collective consciousness nonsense? Nothing about the World of C has ever made sense. My idea of using Geass on the entire world would at least have been consistent with the logic of the series, whereas this angle is way too metaphysical for me. Episode 15 was bad enough on that count. There is no explaining any of this, it just is. I'd be a little more forgiving about it if the show had explained the origins of Geass by now, but it's still a mystery to me. Feh.

I still don't have any sympathy with Charles, even knowing the truth and realizing HellCat's excellent point about how Charles' motivations are the same as Lelouch's. He hates lies and corruption, he says. I'm not impressed. Why? Because for most of his life, he's presided over an Empire that has killed and oppressed and discriminated. He could've done so much in his position to advance equality in THIS world. But as Lelouch so rightly says, he completely detached himself from that world for the sake of his fantastical fantasy.

On the plus side, I was half expecting Suzaku to falter over Charles' promises about reuniting with the dead, but instead he argues against him and prompts Lelouch to deny Charles and Marianne. Excellent. I'm honestly surprised that his "you need action to get results" way of thinking led him in a good direction. At long last, Lelouch and Suzaku have common agreement about something: you have to do your best to improve the world that you've got, rather than foreswearing it.

Getting back to HellCat's point, I have to admit that it is an excellent one and ties into a critical question that the ending of the series ought to answer. Will Lelouch do right with his newfound power, or will he and Suzaku become corrupted and repeat past mistakes? It's an open question. Lelouch Geassing the entire royal family puts an end to feuding over the throne, but C.C.'s sad expression leaves that seed of doubt at the end.

Know what's funny? Lelouch is now emperor of Britannia, and at the same time his actions as Zero have united most of the world as his enemy. The preview seems to suggest that he'll try to mend bridges and try to change the way things are done since we see that he's with Kallen, so we'll see how that will go.

Related to that, another big question is how they handle Schneizel. Will he be some simple ultimate evil that will be a catalyst for bringing Britannia and most of the world together for a common purpose, or will the series handle things in such a way that we are tempted into actually wanting Schneizel to be ruling the world instead of Lelouch and his Geass? I honestly don't know which direction the show will take at this point.

Trainwreck, brilliance, something in between...I don't know. The finale will decide things one way or the other.

Now that the series, next thing coming the English dub premere of Code Geass R2: Rebirth Of The Rebellion this Noveraber.

Who should join the cast as the new characters that will be introduced in R2?

I hope Kari Waulgren plays a role, she is one of favorite voice over actors. I think she would do an excellent job as either Anya or Tianzi.

Eh, C.C. is competant but she could never be the ace. Kallen and Todo are the brawn. Her primary importance doesn't lie in piloting. I agree she and Kallen definitely need some more fleshing out.

On another note, LeLouch's incoming Shinkirou isn't bad but I feel like it has Strike Freedom syndrome. As I understand things it was developed from the Gawain's design, but the Gawain looked much cooler. Shinkirou isn't as sleek, and in its case the backpack is a bit of an eyesore. Why does it need that? The Gawain was already able to fly. It'll admittedly look better animated than it does in the sketch, though.

You and thousanRAB of other japanese that wished for Jin's death.

Internet wise. Eh heh. But yeah, it's a bit grating on the ears, and the images didn't really match well.

Lol. I didn't really ask, but really anyone can read it anyway they want to, so someone could have a polar opposite assumption from me and be right. It is just random art that CLAMP did of the main characters.

Even had Soul Eater been eligible, I still would have voted for R2 since I enjoyed it the most of anything I saw in 2008. I follow(ed) and love(ed) 00 and Vampire Knight, but Geass was just straight out more enjoyable for me. Despite its flaws, I looked forward to it more each week than I did anything else (though Soul Eater has come close) and felt more connection to the cast. Honestly, I feel like R2, while deserving of criticism because it had its fair share of flaws, garners more hatred than it deserves. Thus, I'm glad to see it get recognition.

To explain something about this epsiode:
According to wiki:

Jeremiah was a guard of Lelouch's family and when Lulus was supose to have been kill Jeremiah went to Japan seeking revenge.

So I wouldn't be surprised if Jeremiah joins Lelouch this episode. But does he live?

Also, hows this for a new avatar:
