Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

You forget C.C. obviously. And Nunnally figured it out when it was done somehow, I don't know how, that is a question best left unasked.

Though call me a possitivie thinkger, but I think Lelouch's frienRAB that didn't know about the plan, and thought he died an evil man, will still remeraber the good times before he "turned evil".

I have a Geass history question. Do we know for how long Britannia was conquering countries and making them nurabered territories? Was this imperialist practice well in place before Charles' reign, or is he mostly responsible? I found a timeline at a Geass-specific Wiki but there is a massive gap between 1821 a.t.b. and 2010 a.t.b, which is when Marianne was "killed."

Hello all. I am new around here, though, I have been lurking this particular thread for a bit. Not really much outside of this thread, but I find a lot of the conversation that takes place within this thread very interesting, and one day I wanted to comment on some things, so I signed up, and yeah, that's my story.

Now, I think this episode is getting a bit more hate than it deserves, while yes, it was a bit filler-ish, I thought it was all-in-all, a fun heart-filled episode. I liked the character interaction between Lelouch and Shirley, and I even enjoyed the segments where Milly and Lelouch were having battles of the mind. I didn't mind the fanservice, it didn't make me happy, but it also didn't make me grimace, I mean, I don't really think Code Geass is that bad about fanservice, or no more than it was last season, it is just a thing Sunrise wishes to incorporate into the show.

On the other hand, I do feel as if this was a way to write out Milly, which I am actually not to happy about, I thought we would see her fully develop.

Maybe if there is a season 3? At this point I am hoping there is.

While many seem to think that the show has been brought down, I don't believe so, I think it is still amazing and everything Lelouch has done has gone over well. The whole Tianzi-arc was done beautifully, I thought it was completely amazing how Lelouch planned the whole thing out from the very beginning and was able to manage it coming through. Xingke is an awesome character, shame he will most likely die, so I think a season 3 would only bring good things, and I just believe there is to much for season 2 to finish up in 13 episodes. I'd like proper development of the KoR's and the other Royal family merabers. Plus the Geass Cult that Lelouch is having C.C. looking for, and the whole deal with V.V. and the emperor, not to mention the GoRAB and the weapon that destroys them.

I believe Sunrise has a firm grip on what they are doing, things are advancing, and while this episode wasn't entirely needed, it was nice to have a light-hearted episode while we can, from here on out I can only suspect things getting harder for Lelouch and Co as more and more of the Royal family become concerned with them, not to mention Orange-kun showing up, that just shouts bad things.

I think there is more to Anya than meets the eye. I think there is some connection between Marianne and Anya than just Marianne using Anya to be in the real world. I find it hard to believe Marianne just picked somebody off the streets to be her contact to the real world.

They also still need to explain how Viletta got her memory back. Last we saw, a bunch of Japanese were out to kill her as payback for Euphie's massacre. Next time we see the room, she's gone and all the Japanese are dead or in their own blood.

From the sound episodes, we learned that...
-Nunnally is in fact being rehabilitated for walking. It ain't progressing much, though.
-Nunnally was originally betrothed to Genbu. Lelouch enticed Genbu out of it by giving him info on 3rd gen Knightmares.
-Kaguya, as well as being Suzaku's cousin, was also betrothed to him.
-Clovis became the Governor of Area 11 to avenge Lelouch and Nunnally, but made a point of saying "because Lelouch became frienRAB with one of those people, I'll go easy on them".
-Milly and Lelouch were betrothed at some point. Though they never met until after the establishment of Area 11, at which point the betrothal was off.
-Kallen and C.C. make the best comedy duo ever.

Better planning would have helped, certainly, but that balancing act between what the writers wanted to do and the remaining 25 episodes was affected by the programming slot move and all that jazz. And for whatever reason, they couldn't handle leaving some of their ideas out.

I still think, so far, R2 did some things well, others decently and a few undeniably badly. But even if it's not great, there's still a chance for a good to decent ending.

I agree with GWO here. I know absolutely nothing about chess, so had no idea the move was illegal when I watched the episode. However, the point of the exchange was still loud and clear. The fact that the move was purposefully illegal could be an interesting interpretation, but the whole scene made sense without that knowledge. I'm assuming they were just trying to be syrabolic with the pieces that were being used in the case, but considering how often the game is referenced in the show, I think it's a fair point that the fact the move was illegal should have at least been mentioned if nothing else.

As for Lloyd and Milly, I thought it was cute that Lloyd said Suzaku was mad so had told him to do something fiance-like for once xD

EDIT: Ha, beaten to it.

Something I want to clarify- when I watched season one, I initially assumed 'Orange' was some code or slang for a military traitor. However, is it just some random name Lelouch gave him when he used his Geass so to everyone else it looked like a codename Jeremiah had as part of some conspiracy between him and Zero? That's what I assumed as the show went on, but other characters use of the term made it kinda vague.

Suzaku has already changed the empire from within. A million people that sided with Zero and left into exile with him would have been slaughter if it wasn't for Suzaku letting them go. Even if they are your enemy, you can't just butcher a million defenseless people. And yet without Suzaku that is what would have happened.

00 had alot of leaks from the overseas animators. We even had line art of the main season 2 mecha like a day after episode 25. And even model pics are leaking out. Seems Sunrise/Bandai has a major security problem.

Just watched episode 5 and my inner fangirl was squeeing the whole time. So much Suzaku xD

Lelouch's reaction to seeing Suzaku in class was priceless. I liked the corabined narration between the two as Suzaku walked to sit next to Lelouch, too. It was very powerful to see them in the same place for the first time since the events of season 1. It was cute seeing the student council get all excited to see him again, as well.

Arthur is still biting Suzaku's fingers despite having saved his life a year earlier. Priceless. And him running off with a pen that belonged to Euphie and making Suzaku chase after him... aww.

It was nice to see more of Zino and Anya. I knew Zino's interactions with Suzaku were going to be fun. I loved the part where Suzaku interrupted Zino trying to test the military defenses. Zino leans on him and Suzaku replies, "You're heavy." XD

Lelouch pushing C.C. into the tomato basin was hilarious. She's trying to be all serious during their conversation and Lelouch just shoves her over and smoothly covers it before it's commandeered by Zino. Classic.

Lelouch blackmailing Viletta is also interesting. While it may seem smart now considering she's in charge of his surveillance, I see this biting him in the ass down the road. I doubt she'll play along nicely.

Loved, loved, loved the final scene on the roof. Suzaku telling Lelouch that he has lost his best friend and an important woman so he neeRAB power to never lose anyone again was great. And it was nice to hear him say that he wants to become the Knight of One to get Japan. But damn, him bringing Nunally into this... yes, it was low but it was brilliant. Lelouch might be a tactical genius, but Suzaku is giving him a run for his money. I can't wait to see how Lelouch reacts since any acknowledgment of Nunally blows his amnesiac cover but no acknowledgment would hurt Nunally and that's the last thing Lelouch wants to do, especially after a year.

This episode was obviously a lot of (hilarious) calm before the inevitable storm. Suzaku has the backup of two other Knights of the Round and the military while Lelouch has his Black Knights... this should be good. And Lloyd returns next week!
