Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

I'm asking for it to be consistent. Geass isn't. It visits these dark themes like genocide, slavery, etc and then in the next breath tries to laugh them off. It's especially annoying because by all rights R2 shouldn't need all this fluff, it's supposed to be a direct continuation. With 00 we were told season 1 was set up, season 2 will be the pay off. Geass should be doing similar, not revisiting the fluff that they could get away with in season one.
 
While how he dies would make a difference, I still don't think it would be right for Suzaku's character. No matter how he dies, he's still getting that wish of dying to atone. It doesn't show any growth on his part. I'd like to see him realize that people care about him and want him to live; or at least leave us with the hope that he might realize that eventually. But I just don't see him dying working as a good conclusion for his character.
 
I for one hope that Schneizel never gets a Geass. Him as a Geass-less counterpoint to the others who have one provide a good dichotomy toward those who have the power, and those who can manipulate and strategize through his own experience and skill.

And I'd like to remain in that train of thought about Schneizel than have it rendered asunder that it was all due to some super special Geass that he has instead of actual human endeavour and skill.
 
See, this whole 'Lelouch should never have lied' thing seems wrong to me. Lelouch created the identity for many reasons. It protected those he cared about from being attacked to get to him, likewise cut off the chances of him being attacked, addressed the fact that no one was likely to follow a 17 year old or, much more importantly, an ex-Britianian prince. Which was more likely to win support?

"I am Zero, the erabodiment of the will to rebel against Britannia. Follow me and I will lead you to a new world!"

OR

"I am Lelouch, former prince of Britannia. My father disowned me and my sister and may have killed my mother. Become my arm, serve my questionable whims and help destroy my father so I can create a new world where my little sister will be happy"

?
 
It looks like she will, from the preview alone, get some attention alright...though probably not more of that particular subplot, but then again I already expanded my own thoughts on it and about how it seemingly fulfilled its main purpose even in season one.
 
A) There really isn't that much fanservice, I mean, season 1 had just as much.

B) Several key characters? Uh...what? Lelouch, Rolo and the Emperor have a Geass as of now. Rolo isn't exactly a key character, yet, I fail to see how so many of them have Geass...when they don't.

C) I don't know, the sarcasm just makes it come off worse than I guess it is, maybe tone that down just a little bit? Please?
 
I just caught episode 4 and gotta say, Geass never fails to impress me. We now know for sure that Rolo's Geass merely slows down the victim's perception of time and Lelouch's method for figuring that out so quickly was smart. Zero's dramatic appearance at the execution was also classic. He really has a flair for the dramatic and I love every minute of it. The way Lelouch manipulated Rolo to his breaking point was perfect and his vow to use Rolo and throw him away gave me chills.

But of course, being the uber Suzaku fangirl that I am, the last couple of seconRAB of the episode were my favorite >.> Ack, I want to see the first reunion in a year!
 
Isn't that the problem with all these sort of MacGuffin abilities? (Newtype reactions, SSJ, etc...) The more they're spread around, the less impact they had, and the more they isolate those without them.
