Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

At the end we discover the whole series has been the imaginings of Lelouch, who is in fact Larry, an American teenager who works in a Pizza Hut. CC is a cute girl who often comes into buy pizzas but never talks to Larry. Likewise, every other character factors into Larry's reality. Jeremiah is his boss, Jerry, a cranky rank pusher with a love for orange scented after shave. Charlie is his fat, bald father who enjoys Rennaisance Fairs. Suzaku is his Asian-American best friend who lusts after Larry's younger sister, Nancy.

In general, I'd say this aspect is basically anti-fanservice. Code Geass did their own Lacus character and then...well, you know. And if Nunnally isn't safe, nobody is. With all the turns that the show has taken, there have to be more than a few fans that have been blinRABided and are not happy. In some ways they pander with the fanservice and such, but on substantial developments like this they often don't. I'd agree that there is something of an internal contrast going on.

Maybe, but it's arguably necessary. This low point wouldn't be believable if there were still several people left around to bail him out of it. Lelouch has used lies and people to protect himself; both needed to be taken away to leave him at this lowest point. For now he only has himself to rely on, which is quite a change of pace from what's been the case for most of the series. That said, I won't be happy if C.C. stays this way. That really would be a low blow, depressing, and dissatisfying. There's still too much hanging out there for C.C. to be a non-factor for the rest of the series.

OMG! I will fanboygasm as well if such a team up happens. And to think they made everyone angry for killing off Cornelia so pointlessly. If such a team up happens then I can see many a burned fan once again rejoicing over code geass.

In regarRAB to the Villetta comment...

We don't know that, Ohgi may very well die, or one of them, don't assume they will live. While it'd be nice, Ohgi has had his death flag ever since he first got shot.

In regarRAB to what Charles said to Lelouch this episode...

I wonder if he himself will reveal his identity soon, he seemed quite mad that Charles called him a coward for hiding behind a mask. The irony? Charles himself stole V.V.'s code to be immortal so he wouldn't die, and he is calling Lelouch the coward? Right.

Lelouch: "Can we drop this? Your whole anger schtick is so old and annoying"
Suzaku: "Amusing worRAB from the obsessive cosplayer"
Lelouch: "Excuse me? I needed to mask my identity, lest Britannia attack my loved ones"
Suzaku: "Your loved ones...that'd be yourself then?"
Lelouch: "Oh, I have had it. You never listen to anyone, always in your own little fantasy world, aren't you?"
Suzaku: "Why thank you, yes I do work out"
Lelouch: "ARGH!!"

As it should be, I always like char the best. Even if he was a pedo *joke, kind of*

Code Geass teaches you how to "handle" the ladies...

You know, for all of the rumors saying that Lelouch would hate C.C. I am so glad they weren't true. The fact that he told her to stay away because V.V. wanted her proves that, and the 'immortal witch' comment I think was more snide-filled than hatefull.

And I agree 100% HellCat on that opinon.

And I'm also glad they only showed 1 image for the preview, The World of C should and hopefully will be a huge episode/revelation, I don't want any bit of it spoiled.

Oh and I wonder what C.C. was going to say, when she mentioned the thing about Her and Lelouch, just before killing the people about to get away.

And I wouldn't be surprised if V.V. killed Marianne, he seemingly hates her, and Charles said that he lied again, perhaps that he wouldn't touch Marianne? Who knows...

One thing I felt that was particularly disturbing, for me, when Rolo was about to kill his sibling, "Hello, how are you all?" why the hell did he ask that?

I gurantee 100% that Lelouch puts Nunally higher than Suzaku. 100%. Not sure about Kallen, maybe not yet, but she is definately close, and C.C., again, TBD in Episode 15 how close they are/will be.

After searching for 15 minutes to find the screenshot: EHHH... Kaguya was ranked higher believe it or not. So was Kallen, Rakshata, and of course Todoh. I suppose he was up there but nothing spectacular

CC: "Lelouch, you'll be kicked out if Ougi finRAB you sharing a room with Kallen and I. You'll have to pretend you're gay!"
Lelouch: "Right....'pretend'.."

Wow, that certainly makes the ending even more shock. Then again, it seems quite fitting for a show like Code Geass to go out with one more "Shock and Awe" twist.

I agreed with this statement on Random Curiosity

Well when you put it like that...

Also, yeah did they ask Anno to help direct this episode or something?

I don't think this show has given any sign it wanted to be anything more than just a story about Lelouch's rebellion. All I meant was that I'd like to see a bit more about europe in this setting. Maybe 18 episodes is enough but I don't want things rushed. Rush endings don't do to well.

And even gundam 00 doesn't have much of anything when it comes to back story and politics when compared to Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Then again, I don't think there's and anime can stand up to the sheer size of Legend of the Galactic Heroes' HUGE story and political depth. There is a reason I don't conside Code Geass or Gundam 00 focused on politics and thats because if they are then LOTGH makes them look like shallow amateurish attempts a political discussion.

You might be right I think I was confusing him with Todoh. I forgot the categories but something like intelligence or tactics Todoh was really high.

Although since we've been saying how incompetent Ougi was and how much of it was engineered by Lelouch I guess it backs it up that Lelouch didn't have him rated highly then?

This is also the series in which several key characters have magical eyes that alter reality and a plot that gets steeped in drama and politics only to do constant 180s between that and comedy fanservice.

There's no blatant hate here. I have more productive things to do then pop into threaRAB for things I dislike just to be a bastard. All I'm doing is giving strong negative criticism because it's what I feel the second season deserves.
